Ego At The Old Ashfield, Sutton-in-ashfield

Booked a table last minute on a Monday teatime, for 4 people. The Ego was very accommodating at short notice on the phone. We were seated to a nicely clean dressed table and promptly served with our drinks. We all had a main meal, followed by a mini dessert and coffee. Everything was absolutely delicious, hot and well presented! Our waiter Tobias, was pleasant and attentive. All in all ten out of ten!

The food was lovely, the quality was great and tasted amazing. Downfall was the waiting time between ordering then between the starter and main. The staff were attentive and helpful always making sure we had what we needed and the cocktails were amazing but I just wished they were bigger for the price!

Nice restaurant in general - lovely interior and settings - a good restaurant of choice if you want to dine and chill Enjoyed our drinks and foods. The only slight confusion is the overlaps between the lunch menu and the prix fixe menu ? But love the extensive food options on the A La Carte - cannot wait to try the other ones

What a wonderful way to end the weekend. From arrival when we were warmly greeted until we left the service and experience was impeccable. We had a few questions about the menu,the server was very knowledgeable which helped us decide. The food,ah the food! We had the belly pork and periperi chicken hanging kabob with a side of veg ,all created with quality ingredients and prepared with care and skill, could not have been better. We stayed for a second drink and relaxed over dessert. The frangipan was light and flavourful and the mini creme brule and coffer was the perfect size and end to the meal. As tou can see from the photos the presentation was as delightful to look at as it all was to eat. We will be back and very soon,want to try the Sunday lunch next!
