Pretty quiet on a Monday lunchtime but a great venue to meet up with a group of old friends. Varied menu with a specials menu also. We all opted for different fish dishes which were all good, then couldn’t resist desert, most of up opting for the Old Tin Roof which was wickedly good! Friendly polite service, and a welcome warm fire.

Came here for Sunday lunch with my partner and little girl. Staff were very friendly and very accommodating with our little girl. They made us feel really welcome and looked after us throughout the whole service ❤️ The Sunday lunches were amazing, fresh food and plenty of it! It’s definitely worth the visit. We will be back soon!

One of our very favourite places and our first choice for steak. We were late to our booking on Friday (phoned up) and the kitchen held off on closing so that they could serve it at our (late!) arrival. The steak is always top notch, but also forgot how good the garlic flatbread is too. The staff are lovely and it's a nice cosy venue too. Next time we plan to go back for a day visit to allow the children in the play area outside.

We thought we would re visit somewhere we used to visit alot previously. It didn't disappoint. Although it was extremely hot, and busy, we were seen to our table, either inside or out (absolutely beautiful twinkling beer garden!!!) promptly. The menu was good, I asked for an off menu basic due to dietary and it was no issue at all. Both daughter and partner choose parmos which they said were delicious. These came with salads, coleslaw and chunky chips. I choose chicken mixed salad and it was extremely fresh and flavoursome. All were served very good. The desserts chosen were hot chocolate brownie and biscoff cheesecake. These were absolutely delicious. I had americano. Overall our waitresses were so helpful and although very busy they ensured we got a good experience and food that was a very good standard. The pub was fresh and well decorated, toilets were extremely clean. We had an amazing night here, we will be back.

This was the perfect example of how to produce a simple sandwich and execute it perfectly at a very reasonable price. How do so many pubs get it so wrong I just don't know. Fresh dressed salad, great bread, perfectly cooked chicken and fabulous chips. Very friendly staff. Well done Blacksmiths arms.

Steak very rubbery but good food apart from that. When I complained they took steak meal off the bill. Have dined there many times and never had a problem. Such a shame. But will go back and try again.

I hadn't been since I was a bairn. It was a place my parents used to love going when they first got together, having both had been through messy divorces. I wanted somewhere nice to take my dad to keep him busy and distracted as my mam is in hospital with cancer. The place mam and dad did their courting seemed like a food choice. Once we were settled in, I informed the lady serving us that my dad may be a little slow in deciding what he wanted, as he is suffering from both dementia and Alzheimer's. She was most understanding and very helpful with dad, made him feel comfortable and at home. The food was wonderful, dad had the beef suet, and as there was so much, he struggled to eat it all. I had a parmo, living in Bath for 15 years now, I rarely get to enjoy one, this certainly hit the spot and if my better half could make chips like that, I'd consider marrying her. Thank-you to the staff for being so understanding with dad, you are a credit to the business. Excellent place to visit. Lovely and clean. Reasonable prices. Well worth a visit. WHEN mam has recovered, we will bring her.

Best Sunday dinner in the area no question. The rest of the food menu is fantastic too with such a range of food to choose from. Lovely staff and my favourite place to go for a meal.
