Small restaurant in main street. Parking not easy, look for a side street near by. Friendly atmosphere, welcomed by the owners. Basic table and chairs for customers too. It's not licenced so don't forget to bring your own! Food was hot and tasty (pre order!!) I'd ask for medium hot dish, but it fell short I'm afraid. Rice was nice. Only give it 7.5/10 Service a bit slow, even though we had pre ordered.

Beautiful food. Incredible vegetarian dishes. Homely relaxed feel. Byo is a big plus too but honestly it's the food that you should go for. We've been going to Garuda for years and Ani never disappoints

I have been wanting to visit here for ages but the stars have never aligned until Saturday. We were extremely lucky to get a walk in for the two of us. We were greeted by the owner and shown to a table. As we didn't have any drinks with us Peter suggested Tesco a few doors down and I was able to grab a bottle to enjoy with the meal. The service was wonderful and friendly and it felt like we had been going there for years, with just the right amount of care and advice. The food was exceptional from start to finish. We had the chicken satay and spring rolls to start and they were beautiful. The satay was amazing and was much darker in colour than any I have had before, but much better in flavour than any I have had before, I would definitely have these again. For main I had a chicken rendang and my wife ordered gule monkfish. The rendang was again perfect for my tastes. Spicy but flavourful with a generous portion that would satisfy the majority of eaters. I would have had seconds, even though I was stuffed because it was so good. I can't comment too much on the monkfish as I have a dislike of seafood, but my wife raved about it and said she's having the same again next time without question. So I think that sums it up. We finished with deserts of a rice pudding dish I think was called bubar, which was black rice and coconut, and the second dish we ordered was a Banana coconut pancake to which I forget the name. Again I couldn't find fault if I tried another 10 out of 10. At the end of the meal we met owner and chef Ami, who came to chat. It was lovely speaking to the owners and their passion for the food and customer service was clear. We cannot wait until our next visit

Been here a few times. Absolutely love the atmosphere, the option to take your own alcohol and of course the food. I'm obsessed with the beef rendang.

I loved the superb food, which is consistently first class and enjoyed a wonderful reception from the staff, as I haven't been there for some time. Cosy atmosphere, prompt service and probably the most authentic Indonesian food in Wales. Good value food with an extremely interesting menu; it is so nice that you bring your own alcoholic drinks which significantly reduces the cost of eating out, especially as there is a Tesco Extra close by, which was useful when we ran out of booze! Total cost of the meal, for seven of us, excluding the bring your own booze of course, but including some soft drinks was only one hundred and sixty pounds, plus the tip. I recommend Garuda's thoroughly!

Visited for the first time as a couple this evening. Small, quaint reataurant with a homely feel. The food was absolutely delicious, authentic Indonesian with good variety, especially for vegetarians and vegans conoared to most other places. Very friendly and warm hospitality from this family run restaurant. We had a nice chat and will definitely be returning, hopefully soon! Plus BYOB is always a bonus!

This is the place we go for every occasion. For the last 15 years It's perfect. The food is just amazing, the surroundings are basic, but that is the character. The staff are helpful but leave you alone to get on with it! No hovering! You can bring your own alcohol. Saves loads of money that can be spent on trying the dishes on the menu.

The beef semur is the best tasting dish of its kind I've ever had in my life! (And it's not even close) Superb all round, lovely people, amazing food. If you like spice, this is the place for you!

Went here for an evening meal whilst staying in the area. Really nice, varied menu with very tasty food. Ordered a large place of noodles for the kids to share (they are a bit more selective at that age) and the portion size was very big, although the staff happily boxed up what was left for takeaway. Outstanding, attentive service. This place is run by a small 2-family team who clearly take pride in their work. The owner/chef also came out to check how things were - a really nice touch that you don't see in a larger place. Highly recommend a visit here and will certainly return if in the area again.
