After a cold winter walk up and down to see the sleeping giant. Stopped here for a coffee. Couldn't of asked for a warmmer reception. Very friendly staff and warm cosy inside. Coffee was served fresh with cream and milk and biscuits. And was very well needed after the walk. Thank you
Our stay at Copper Beech was the friendliest, most welcoming and accommodating experience of any hotel, bed and breakfast or AirBnB I've ever stayed in.
On arrival after a simple and picturesque bus journey from Neath train station, our hosts immediately showed us to our room and brought us fresh milk (both dairy and soya) to have a cup of tea. The rooms are bright, well decorated and spacious, with an en suite and our own private entrance.
Before we left for the event we were attending, we enjoyed a reasonably-priced pint and had a chat with the owner and the friendly locals (who offered to drive us to our venue and even arranged for their family to pick us up). To specially cater for both my friend's meat-eating diet my vegan diet, the head chef knocked us up a very quick but very tasty tomato pasta dish – even making sure it was served quick enough that we wouldn't miss our bus.
After a good night's sleep in two comfortable beds, the next morning, we headed back to the bar area where a breakfast table was already laid out for us, with juice, cereal, milk, pastries and cutlery on the table. We were then cooked a breakfast to our specifications. I was offered vegan sausage, vegan spread for my toast, and has mushrooms, vegans and fried potatoes while my friend also had black pudding and sausage. We chatted away with the friendly owners who told us about the local area and their background.
We headed off with full bellies and with the owners making sure we knew where we were going.
The only downside is that the stay was so brief – I would have love to stay another couple of nights to enjoy the stunning local area. I couldn't recommend Copper Beech highly enough.
Family of 5 visited for Sunday lunch. All home cooked, beautiful meat and tons of vegetables, home style. And the desserts! Amazing! All home made and delicious. The family are working really hard to build up their business. It's a very nice change to go somewhere and really feel so welcome. We will definitely be back for another Sunday lunch and to try their afternoon tea.
A lovely pub/ restaurant set just outside the Beacons national park. It's old style and all the better for it. You are guaranteed a friendly welcome.
What a gorgeous place for a relaxing meal, the food was superb, all freshly cooked and piping hot.. The service was first class and the little side area is a lovely little suntrap.. We didn't want to leave, we have just found out you rent a room too, we will definitely be back.. 😁
We loved the food the place and the service. The food is lovely cooked in traditional way. Nice beer and staff is so friendly and welcoming.
Without a doubt the best Sunday lunch in the area! Everything home cooked from scratch and what a difference it made!
I’m awkward to cater for as am vegan and gluten free, this wasn’t a problem and I could choose something from all 3 courses ( this never happens for Sunday lunch!). Everyone else had the meat selection and all agreed it was the best Sunday lunch we’d had in ages.
A warm welcome for locals and visitors at this ancient inn, which also has some bed and breakfast accomodation available.Set in the Brecon Beacons National Park visitors can set out from here to explore and walk the hills then return to homecooked meals with Italian flavours and a seat by the open fire.
Family run restaurant with the family vibe.
Food was excellent couldn’t pick anything wrong with it, everything is fresh.
I have to young children aged 18 months, 2 and a half and the staff couldn’t do anymore to keep them entertained.
Definitely be making a visit again very soon.
Having not gone out for lunch on Christmas Day before I was a little worried it would take away from the special day it should be. Although we have always enjoyed eating here, Christmas is special. I couldn’t have been more delighted it was like having a home cooked meal with your family. Loved the extra touches like the games and music. You made it feel like we were having lunch in your home and we were having a party. The best atmosphere ever. Knew we had made the right choice!
We arrived for Christmas Dinner at The Copper Beech, as we stepped in we were greeted by the most fantastic sight, the whole building was decorated like a Christmas film, the tables were all laid with the most beautiful crackers, stunning table centres and linen table cloths. The food was second to none, we had five courses and each was outstanding, even my “fussy” daughter ate everything, the service was fantastic as the children of the owners were our waiters, it was like a huge house party to which we were included, we cant thank the Macadams enough for their hospitality, having never eaten at the pub before we will certainly tell everyone about our fantastic Christmas Day!
We popped in here after a good walk to the Henrhyd Water falls and back. We were soaked to the skin after a good downpour and inappropriate clothing. But we were welcomed into the cosy pub which had a lovely log fire burning - on the back of a few chilly days in early September.
The landlady was a joy ! Not only great behind the bar but also a local historian who was able to tell us many a story about the pub and the local surroundings. The real ale was superb, as was the food. Well worth a visit
The very best home cooked Sunday lunch I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating! The meat was beautiful and tender, I had Beef which melted in my mouth, my mum had Turkey which was the same and my partner had lamb shank which fell off the bone.
There was a very generous amount of freshly cooked vegetables and the best cauliflower cheese ever!
This really was a fantastic find and at short notice we were booked in on a busy Sunday. The service was warm and welcoming and the food, outstanding.
We will definitely be making the hour round trip again soon.
We were given a warm welcome, sat by the fire and ate generous portions of delicious food. Would definitely go there again.

We met friends here for Sunday lunch and the food was outstanding. Real gravy, proper roasties ad an abundance of meat and fresh veg. The service was great and we were made to feel very welcome. Look forward to going back.
I had very warm welcome and though they were not doing food when I arrived I was given a choice of food from the menu.I chose the spaghetti bolognese , a freshly prepared generous serving. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed.Do not be put off with the renovation work, the welcome, food and bedroom was worth it.

If you're ever in the area, or even if you have to go out of your way to get here, this place is well worth it. There is no pre packed, boil in the bag uni-food here. Just good, honest, prepared and cooked in house food. The decor is warm and pleasant with friendly, helpful hosts. Highly recommended. Will be returning for more of the bread and butter pudding!
Called in here at very short notice for food, Nonna is the most polite, accommodating lady !
The food is out of this world, we had various dishes and the options offered with each dish was amazing!
Also dog friendly.
Will definitely be calling here again on a regular basis. Can’t recommend enough !!
