Often passed the pub thinking it was a small local. Decided to call after recommended by a friend. Excellent atmosphere.
Couples, groups, young families, The sound of conversation lovely, no music blasting out.
Age range great! 20's to 70's+
AND! prices available to all!
Been to lots of JDs .All good value, but some better than others in terms of atmosphere, decor and cleanliness. This one, Top marks all around.
I frequent this Wetherspoon more than any other pub, and I'm usually pleased with the service, atmosphere, and quality of food and drink. I visited today planning to get breakfast but decided not to bother after speaking to a member of staff who was incredibly rude. I approached her to inform her that one of the coffee machines was not working properly and to ask for another mug. Instead of just giving me a new mug and having a look at the machine, she was aggressive and gave me attitude. She was evidently in a bad mood, and it very much felt like she was taking it out on the customers. It's the first time I've ever been treated badly by a member of staff here, so just avoid the middle-aged lady with blonde hair and glasses, and you should be fine!
Been here a few times since Spoons has taken it over and always happy with my visit and the food is always delicious. This evening my husband and I came for steak night and it was such a bargain. Proper pub grub cooked quickly and tasty. My husband found his medium steak cooked perfectly and a good price for under £12 with the peppercorn sauce. You must try the new cookie dough sandwich!
Met family for breakfast and whilst the service is great and the food is well priced the actual quality leaves a little to desire. Eggs are over cooked along with sausage and bacon. As for the black pudding well that is enough to have you running to the dentist for a new set of gnashers!!! Ok experience but there are better experiences.
We Had some Food in here hot and spicy chicken, and steak. Both meals were excellent. Staff are really friendly, and service was excellent
I love the Red Lion Inn, it's a great sized pub with vintage decor which makes it feel local. The pictures and photographs on the walls also show the history of the area. The food and drinks have always been nice whenever we've gone and the staff are lovely too. The only slight downside is parking can be quite limited especially on busy days.
Good table availability at 3:15pm on a Friday. Easy to order using the App. Service was very quick.
Lovely and clean, friendly staff, generous portions of food.
Will definitely be back again.
I've HIGHLY recommended it to my friends.
Great pub for quick pub grub, speedy service, never had a bad meal here. Can highly recommend the pizza. Very reasonable prices, I also love the refillable coffee for £1.20
Nice atmosphere. Drinks were super cheap. Quick service at the bar and Nice outdoor area with smoking and non smoking areas. Haven't been for years but will be coming back more after.
