BEST Gastro pub we’ve ever visited. We were only staying in the area for 2 days, accidentally came across it and ended up having lunch and dinner on both days … even had delicious cake and coffee there just before we left to return home to Holland. The food will match any good restaurant, and the wines are excellent both in terms of choice and quality … both food and wines are friendly priced … by the way, they also serve a great range of beers and real ales. The ambiance is relaxed jolly and fun, which stimulates easily-flowing conversations and lots of laughter … the place is tastefully decorated and there’s a large well-maintained garden at the back with lots of sunny and shaded places to sit to enjoy your food and drinks … even the toilets are clean and well-serviced. The owners, Darren and Claire, are really special, as is their son Harry … super-welcoming, very friendly and superb service … and these are the values they have instilled in all of their staff … all focused on giving their customers a lovely experience. We will return for sure next time we’re in that part of the UK, and would make a detour to visit … highly recommend others to do the same.

What a find! Only discovered this fab pub when our friends moved into the village. Food is lovely, tasty, hot, well cooked and reasonably priced. The staff are really well trained and very good. I'm not a fan of Sunday lunch but here it is amazing. Lovely chicken skewers on Friday night (with one left over for Saturday lunch!). The Heart in Hand is becoming our new local, thank you!

This place is amazing 🤩 I feel like I want to keep going back to try everything on the menu. Yesterday we had lunch, a toasted cheese sandwich, a plain cheese sandwich and a very delicious ham & tomato sandwich with tiger bread. (Look at the ham in that sandwich 🤤) and these all came with fries, and these are probably the best fries I’ve tried in a long time too tbh. I highly recommend trying this place if you haven’t already. Make it a working lunch like we did 😊 very reasonable prices and even better when your boss pays 😏 Perfect 😍

A wonderful family run local village pub, taken on and revitalised bringing a solid community vibe back to the village it serves. serving up well thought out, traditional fare at great prices, food quality is excellent, staff do a brilliant job of making sure you are looked after. Sunday roast is what really stands out and makes this a fully booked out venue, book early if you want to have your Sunday roast here..
