It was very quiet when we went for dinner which suited us quite well. The food was absolutely stunning. Very excited to come back!

Friendly easy going staff. Very clean. Fish and was lovely. Can’t fault it. Just came across this place driving from Avebury back to London. Nice place to come even if you’re on your own. Feels very homely. And it’s community owned apparently. So that’s one successful saved gastro-pub.

We wanted to eat with some friends in a typical English place. Near the famous abbey stones. And this place was perfect. They treated us very well and the food was good.

5 of us visited The Winterbourne last night, the first time since the new management had taken over running this friendly village restaurant. We were all delighted by the warm welcome and professionalism of all the staff. The food was delicious and beautifully and originally presented, notably the squid (see photo). Between us we also enjoyed scallops and the yummy fried brie & smoked salmon starters. There was quite a lengthy wait for the main course, but we could see the chef working busily from our table and the pork loin dish, (which we all enjoyed) served with a black pudding mash and delicious brandy & peppercorn sauce was well worth the wait. We really shouldn’t have had anything else to eat but the choice of ice-creams was too good to miss out on and our friend thoroughly enjoyed his beautifully presented banoffee pie. One driver wanted a non alcoholic drink and was served an interesting concoction she really enjoyed, appreciating the effort to provide something a little different. Romanian wines were tasted and appreciated with the wine lovers noting they would study the wine list carefully on our next planned visit! Now to find a date when we can all return together. Well done Mihaj and team, you’re doing a great job.

Lovely setting, friendly community owned pub, recenlty redecorated is clean bright simple modern style. Has a simple menu, FAB FOOD, (we had sunday roast and a starter - the samon and brie = 😋😋) great serivce and some nice painings on the walls ! We sat in one of the wooden hut tables warm but also provide shade from the sun, lovely play area for the kids and also grass to run about on... 👍👍👍👍

A very good community restaurant, pub and coffee shop. The food was home prepared and cooked fresh. It was a good choice on the menu and a decent sized portions, our meals were very tasty and enjoyable. A local craft brewery supplied the beer Broad Town Brewey, like the food very good beer, would like to try other beers brewed by BTB. The staff extremely friendly and welcoming, my wife and I certainly frequent this restaurant/pub again and bring friends. A good afternoon.

Excellent all round experience, from the way we were welcomed and seated to the attention we received throughout the meal. We ordered olives and flatbread to start us of and then we all ordered the lamb. The olives were so good, I meant to ask the brand as I could definitely do with having those in the cupboard at home. Flatbread was delicious and the perfect match to the olives. One point was that the bowl for the olive oil and balsamic was too deep, making it difficult to get any balsamic as it was too deep in the dish. The mains were perfect, I could not find fault as much as I tried. The lamb was perfect, tender pink and just enough. Yorkshire pud was the right size so as not to overwhelm the plate. The veg on the plate was a sensible, seasonal combination and this was supplemented with roasted cauliflower and a generous portion of roast potatoes. The roast potatoes were so good and with the gravy, made it very difficult to stop. This is our second visit and it will definitely be regulars even though it's an hours drive.
