Have never had a bad meal here always friendly staff and very helpful. Highly recommend.
Had a lovely lunch plenty of it all fresh and very tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful would highly recommend. a visit.
Waitress was excellent. My friend and I both had jacket potatoes, one with tuna & sweetcorn and the other with cheese & bacon. There were two prices, £6.95 for small plate and £9.95 for regular. To be honest neither of us could see any difference as to why the £3.00 difference. Apart from that oddity, everything was lovely and we will both return
We are so happy to have our village pub open again!! We were made to feel so welcome, food was lovely and service second to none, we never expected this place to be open again so please ignore previous review commenting on limited menu, we personally are so grateful in these times for somebody to be doing their upmost to give us our pub back again!
We stayed Saturday and Sunday, slept here for a night and ate every meal here. It was glorious. From the pristine room, lots of towels and lovely bathroom to the delicious food, excellent service and superb breakfast, everything was above and beyond what we were expecting from a small country Inn.
The atmosphere in the pub was lovely, low music and lovely conversation without any extreme drunkenness, so we were able to have a quiet chat over a few hours and a few pints.
We observed pie week, and the meat/potato pies were lovely, as was the cherry pie with custard. The Sunday carvery was also great experience. Just overall wonderful. Just... You know... Go here if you're in the area.
Good meal, friendly staff and will go back to try their Sunday roast.
We stayed here during a walk of the Ridgeway.
The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Good choice of home cooked food on the menu and great beer.
We were sent on our way the next morning with a full English breakfast in our bellies to continue with the next 15miles of the walk.
Highly recommended.
Had a lovely lunch today. The landlady was very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend a visit.
We stayed in an Airbnb nearby and was recommended to dine here. The pub looks really cute and we ate early, so it was nice and quiet. The lady behind the bar and serving was very nice and friendly. We ordered the scallops (very good), chicken and leek pie (not great), bangers and mash (nice except for the gravy) and sticky toffee pudding (pretty awful). The food is pretty bad if I’m honest but I feel sorry for the place as they seem to be struggling so im hoping the recent reviews give them some pointers. The pie was cold, and the pudding was clearly a refrigerated pre made cake and had not been warmed up. The main problem though is the gravy - sticky sweet and almost black. It didn’t taste like gravy and we had to scrape it off most things. Honestly was like bbq sauce/sticky toffee sauce! Ask for it on the side if I were you. I hope this place picks up as it could be a really nice place.
We made a last minute decision to go to The village Inn for Sunday lunch and it was so good!!
We all had cider braised pork and crackling, it was delicious and a huge portion.
The vegetables were great too, cauliflower cheese, roasted carrots and braised red cabbage.
We will definitely be returning soon.
I have been there three times and I gave always been very pleased with their quality, prices, service and place. It is a nice place and the waiter has always been helpful and friendly, and tables have enough distance between them. I recommend it to have a meal comfortably.
We had our family early Christmas dinner here and we all loved every minute. The food was amazingly tasty and the portions were lovely and big. The options for the children was fabulous and Steve was very flexible with offering options for fussy kids. We enjoyed using the big side room as it meant it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Thank you for everything!
