Welcomed by a lovely women called Jackie. Booked in quickly and showed to my room. The room was small but cozy and clean. It had a really nice smell. The en-suite was a decent size. The bed itself was slightly hard but was comfortable and warm. The only two issues I had were the shower wasn't very strong and that the hotel could be noisy at times, which is to be expected as it is also a pub. Checking out was a quick and easy process. I would stay again.
Really good welcome clean spacious room cosy and very comfortable despite another post ,that I believe I s false, there's NO traffic noise permitting the room is clean tidy and very nice
Nice, simple, inexpensive place to stay, right in the heart of Wootton Bassett with helpful staff. Food and beer are good, rooms are clean and have all that we needed. NB breakfast wasn't provided but lots of options available as we were right on the high street.
Absolutely fantastic pub. Good beer, good company and a fantastic Landlord & Landlady. Would recommend to anyone who fancies a good pint and some good company.
Very affordable place, very friendly and great drinks! Food is delicious and served quickly too. I've been to all the pubs in Royal Wootton Bassett and this is by far my favourite.
As a listed building I was not expecting massive parking or modern furnishings, if I wanted that I could stay at the travel lodge outside of Wootton Bassett.
It was a truly rural town experience, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, it felt like going to a local pub rather than todays chain experience and that was a nice change, food is available at normal dinner hours 6-9pm and it was yummy (home cooked by the looks of it), if you want breakfast though you need to decide the night before which can be hard to predict.
It did feel a bit on the older side but I guess that to be expected given the location.
I will note that parking is limited and the access is narrow, given the buildings age that was to be expected.
Pleasant bar staff, good food at respectable prices. Currently a good choice of 'Real Ales'. The banter from some of the regulars is very amusing if not really PC !
The prices in the chalk boards for their food is very reasonable and good variety, all within traditional pub choices. Good, but limited, selection of beers.
Good honest pub, no delusions of grandeur, spacious surroundings, friendly bar staff.
Bar staff very friendly and polite great place for a casual drink basted on a first time visit very recommended
