A lovely garden to enjoy a cup of tea and delicious cake (Dad said the sandwich was great too) overlooking the Wye. Perfectly placed for a half way-ish stop to and from Symonds Yat using the ferry.

Pretty impressive place. Looks like it is in the middle of nowhere but quite accessible from Monmouth. Beautiful scenery around and plenty of this to do in the surrounding.

This is a Youth campsite operated by the WCF (Woodcraft Folk). It's in the Wye valley and is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. There isn't any WiFi or phone signal here except in emergencies from the wardens cabin. These guys are very friendly and helpful. There is a large lodge type building called The Burrow in which parties of people such as scouts can stay with some amenities such as toilets and showers with plenty of bunks, but you'll have to provide sleeping bags, food etc. There was a roof which can be opened up during hotter summer nights but I don't know if it's still operable. There is plenty of walking and exploring to be done and if you're lucky could find King Arthur's cave. A fabulous way to unwind and reset yourself.

Nice little campsite. Sadly due to it being so busy we had to stay quite far away from the rest of the facilities, they were about 15 min walk or 5 min drive. The trek to the facilities was exhaust but nothing could be done due to the business. We had a nice campfire though and luckily the fire drawn away all the bugs since the campsite had a slight bug problem. the trip was pretty enjoyable though so a good review from me!

Great location, right in the centre of nature. Spacious pitch, peaceful, good facilities and welcoming staff. Very enjoyable!

Incredible location! Right next to some amazing walks, and the river is so close, falling asleep to the sound of running water is great. We even ran into 5 deer in the night when going to the toilet! Really nice warm welcome from the warden too! Only note for improvement would be that it would've been nice to be able to recycle our food waste on site.

Nice campsite for young people with the facilities needed to have a nice stay. The pitches are all alongside the lovely river which is open for camping or other water activities. To reach the site you either approach along a track from the top of one side of the valley and come straight down onto the site or you take one on the other side of the valley and proceed to take a wooden footbridge over the river (feels daunting but is safe for 6 people at a time). This bridge is also used to cross the river for exploring. It is useful to know that there is no mobile connectivity at all in the valley, but you might be able to get some away from the site

Great place for youths! Perfect for friends, perfect for families, it's a shame dogs aren't allowed, but the area, scenery, services, and location pays off. The site has a toilet block, seating areas, and fire place areas, and they provide wood to campers who pay for the service which is handy! Being located along the river Wye, there is a bridge that crosses over to the other side, where you can take a route to Symonds Yat, where you can go up the valley to the rock, overviewing the region. Because of its geographic region, you can see wild animals around the site, from deers, ducks, and badgers! The prices are reasonable too, ended up paying around 200 for a group of 12 for three nights, and the warden was nice!

Thank you for feeding the Rainbow Gathering With Veg from your Garden. The W.I.S.E.Tribe gathered across the river last year 2020 for one month and you made no money from us yet you let us pick boxes of veg from your Garden. You made us feel safe and was very welcoming and generous thank you so much. What a great place surrounded in caves, the borders of England and Wales you can really feel the History here, for me it was like realising I had found the location of King Arthur's sleeping Army. I could read the land in a military way i could see how the Armies could use caves to flood Symonds Yat with an Army so well protected a very hard place to attack. Thanks again i hope our brothers and sisters were not too greedy and life off grid was ok over wintertime. im sure about 100 of us went away feeling much better and thanks for the historical time we had sharing praying for world peace and learning about nature so many went away to form so many different healing groups it never ends

Beautiful walk rain or shine. You can take the easier way up the lane to get back to the campsites, cross the river and visit the pubs. The Royal Lodge serve the best chips in the world

A wonderful venue away from the rigours of day to day life. Very little mobile signal is a massive plus with groups! Almost all pitches have access to the river and the site is away from all roads, lights and noise. The site has two routes to Symonds Yay, one over the chain bridge and the other via the foot ferry. Both are great and make a wonderful circuit. When here try the caving and kayaking. The only negative are the small number of toilets but they are well looked after.
