Phoned on the off chance Saturday night as we was hungry and had step son staying with us. They had room for us and we had an enjoyable meal. Had sharing starters (although we didn't share) hunters chicken and two lamb shanks (from specials board) delicious.
A really good selection of vegan food. Went here for the first time my meal was tasty apart from undercooked chips. My boyfriend said his chicken was bland but would like to try again.
Lovely friendly pub, staff are great . Been on Saturdays for the 2 for £20 steak nights and also had a few sunday lunches also 2 for £20 ( and kids under 12 eat free)… I’m not sure which I prefer as they are both cooked beautifully and very tasty.. it’s a lovely friendly pub, can’t fault it
I organised a friends birthday party here and there was 20 of us and the meals (3 courses) all come out hot and together. The staff were jolly and couldn’t have been more helpful . Well where do I start. AMAZING FOOD at a great price. Had the Sunday roast with all the trimmings and selection of all three meats. Nice friendly staff. They even made Gluten Free cauliflower cheese. Nothing else to add .. this is a hidden gem!!!!!!
Great value food and great village pub - Friday two fish and chips for £12 excellent value - really enjoyed and great value - hunters chicken was great for fussy daughter - second time went for Sunday lunch and that was great - glad we stopped by today.
Came across this pub by chance, great little find! We booked a table at 3.30pm as kitchen closed at 4pm on a Sunday, we thought that this late in the day there may not be much choice and to be honest as we booked so late on we had thought hopefully food would be okay - The Sunday Roast was fabulous
Just had a roast dinner... such good value. Very tasty highly recommend ...everything made from scratch definitely will be going back

There are Sunday roasts and there are Sunday roasts..... some are ok some are good some you have to pay over the odds for, but the whistle stop at tallington ticks every box, good atmosphere, good service and the food was excellent and the price was extremely reasonable, you would go along long way
Amazing Sunday Roast, good portion of beef cooked medium, just as we asked. Homemade yprkoes, crispy roast potatoes, side serving of veg..Absolutely delicious.
Stopped here for lunch on our way back from the east coast.. we sat in the garden and tables spaced out plenty of things for children to play on.. food was absolutely delicious and generous sized portions.. would recommend to anyone. Plus dogs are welcome 🐕👍
We've just come home from having a Mother's Day meal. The belly pork broth absolutely amazing, the pork just fell apart. Roast dinner beautiful and creme brulé cheese cake delicious 😋 one hell of a chef. All staff absolutely amazing. Thank you ❤️

Never been before but felt welcomed and homely environment. Even though they was on a limited menu for this week food was delicious. Amazing burger and kids loved their meals even had pudding. Very reasonably priced and will deffo be back.
