First visit. We had the set to course lunch (swapped starter for pudding). Good lunch portions and with soft drinks and coffee a good price too. Would return

We were lucky enough to get the last table at The Salty on Saturday evening. to enjoy one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Crab cakes were delicious & the rib-eye steak was so tender & perfectly cooked (husband not a fish fan!). Service was friendly & attentive - just the right blend. Oh the creme brulee was exceptional. Wonderful - thank you!

I went with my family (two adults, two children) and we each had a different meal from the menu. Everyone of us was impressed by the quality of their meals; the Turbot was wonderful, the mussels superb, the Thai crab cakes divine and the fish goujons just what a fussy eleven year old needed. All in all a great meal, most of it locally sourced. I would heartily recommend The Salty - but make sure you book in advance as it can get busy!

Excellent attentive staff. Food was first class. Fish was fresh and cooked to absolute perfection, desserts were homemade and obviously made by someone with a great deal of culinary skill. We had the raspberry crème brulé - and some people will know just how hard it is to make a crème brulé with fruit in it without causing the brulé to split, but this was excecuted perfectly. Definitely one to visit if you are in the area.

My wife, daughter &I popped into this restaurant as we had heard lots of people rate it. Its only a small place with around a dozzen tables and one or two outside but my word, the quality of the food was excellent and has been one of the top meals I've had. Everything was local and freshLy cooked to order. Mussels that were succulent and juicy nothing ovrrcooked at all. We didn't book and was lucky to get a table so booking is essential. We had a sharing platter and 2 portions of scallops with the Roe to start. I had mussels for my main, daughter had the fishcakes and wife, fish and chips. It's moderately priced but more than reflected in the quality, freshness and taste of the food. We had a couple bottles of quality wine and I had a couple of berrs. It worked out at 33piunds per head if you divide it by 3. If you are in Dawlish, Devon, this little gem of a restaurant is so worth a visit. The staff/owner are such lovely people too. Superb.
