From the moment you walk inside, you feel that the atmosphere is good here. Every member of staff greets you, clients look relaxed and smile. We had capuchino, carrot cake and a Chelsea bun. I made it awkward for the girl at the counter by asking for butter, jam, etc. There was a big queue behind me but she did not panic for one second. On the contrary, she stayed very calm, genuine and kept smiling. She is worth her weight in gold for the business. We sat in the veranda, overlooking the river. All very civilised and pleasant. Back to the centre. Huge collection of very good looking plants, garden furniture, etc, anything that you expect from a good garden centre. It is all very well displayed. We're not from the area but, if we had been, this garden centre would haven been our regular meeting point.

You can find almost everything for your garden !Amazing variety of flowers, plants, trees, pots lights, water futures compost feeds Ratan garden furniture benches supports and so on! The only thing I didn't find and I was looking for it is column trees. So if you have a garden you definitely have to go there as in my opinion Otters are far better than Plant Galore.

Exterior display area extended. Compost can now be found on the far right along with grit, choice of decorative stones and wooden furniture. As expected, plants are plentiful with everything you would need for your garden, or indoor plants, all to be found at Jack's Patch. A wide selection of clothing, accessories and gifts. Staff are helpful and ready to assist those with disabilities. Overall, a good experience but if you plan a visit, allow yourself plenty of time. Parking is free, disabled parking available and the premises are wheelchair friendly (wheelchairs also available on request) but there is a slight slope down from the entrance and again from the outside plant area and up to indoor plants and tills followed by another short rise to the car park exit. Could use another entrance/exit point at the far right nearer to the main car parking area. New customer collection point. If purchasing bulky items, get accurate description (example: Quartzite Pea Gravel 10mm large bag) go to checkout and they will find item on their list, pay for it and exit premises. Take vehicle to far end of car park - right hand side - and go around left bend. Reverse to collection point, show staff your receipt and they will collect it for you and help to put it in your vehicle. No more towing heavy carts around 😀. Home delivery service is also available as well as Click & Collect.

Delighted to have a garden token to spend, and got a lot for my token with bargains from the sale benches, a winter hellebore and bulbs for spring😁

Revamped since Otter took it over. Much neater and cleaner. Nice little garden centre, with helpful friendly staff.

What a wonderful and helpful team at Jacks Patch who helped me talk down my 6 year old grandson’s meltdown. They were non judgemental and considerate and made such a difference. Lucy used her psychology studies to interact from a distance and save the day. Many thanks to all who kept and eye on him and ensured he stayed safe. A successful calm outcome all thanks to them. Wonderful. 😊

*UPDATE*Nov 2022. Visited to check the Christmas shop and range of decorations and was not disappointed! Overall a much better value offer than Fermoys Garden centre. The displays were excellent, the singing penguins are back as well. The welcome addition of two Pod Point 7kw AC electric car charging points worked well, however the bays afe not marked on the floor and one space was ICE'd when we charged up. ----- Formerly Jack's Patch, now Otter Nurseries Garden Centre, nothing much has changed internally apart from the branding.
