Ate here this evening had the asian chicken strips and my wife had the Gluten Free Fish and Chips. Excellent quality food cooked to perfection. Had the two courses for £15 mid week option. Amazing choice of deserts. Had the Key lime pie, and my wife had the Gluten Free Honeycomb cheesecake. Good choice of options on the two course specials. Really good service would highly recommend.
An incredible venue, so utterly balanced. Not pretentious, but comfortably classy. Friendly and professional. I have lived 7 years in the area, and only just discovered it... I intend to make up for that going forward. Everyone, go, you will not regret it.
Excellent watering hole that happens to have one of the best solutions to your food potentially going cold between the kitchen and your table. Chilled and friendly atmosphere with some fantastic service

Definitely worth a visit, stunning quality steaks served on a volcanic hot rock…meaning you choose the level of cooking you want, rather than a busy kitchen just serving you want ever comes out of the pan and then sending it back. Great choice of wines and beers to accompany the meal, the staff all very professional in their conduct, with great attention to detail and also good to see, and rare these days, what we could only assume were locals at the bar having chats with the staff and other customers to..… makes it warm and inviting, a family feel rather than a pub chain…like we get round by where we live… just wished we lived in the area.
A great place for a quality evening meal with a great range of meals .. we did go towards the weekend and the menu was extended with a specials list… not sure if this is on every evening though … 100% recommend this restaurant for an evening meal … oh and very extensive dessert menu .. if for what ever reason you have room left!
Well, I never cooked my own steak at the table before. The delicious smell of burnt meat fills the restaurant - maybe not the place for vegetarians...
The meat is very good quality and delicious; I had the beautifully marbled ribeye.
Regrettably, the sides are rather bland and could do with some flavour.
Service was great, and the staff helpful and excited to be back.

Very accommodating!!! We hadn't booked, our mistake. However the owner was able to seat myself and the husband. The restaurant had a relaxing feel and the couple next to us, informed us they can't help but to return. We order a rib eye steak and a filet steak. Was not disappointed!!. Yes, you are cooking it yourself, but this is all part of the fun!!... The steak comes with Skin of chips, mushrooms, tomatoe, onions, salad and coleslaw.
As you walk into the pub, you are drawn to a fridge full of homemade desserts! Option to eat in or take home. Of course we had eaten to much... so we had to have a take out, white chocolate, bailey's cheese cake and a lemon crush cheese cake - oh my.... what a pleasure - only glad I wasn't in the pub when eating... lots of oh's and ooh's going on when eating!!! When paying the bill, the owner offered us an apology because they had been 2 members of staff down - in all honesty, we had not noticed and the staff had been so accommodating and happy to service, we'd not noticed. Thank you and we will be returning 😊
Visited the Grove tonight (10/08/21). What a fantastic place to eat wonderful food. Set in a lovely area, gardens are well tended with water features. Very large car park and the building is beautiful, from the 1800s grade 2 listed. There's lots to choose from on the menu, the amount I'd steak to choose from is fab. Steaks come on a very hit lava rock which allows you to cook it to your preferred temperature. Sift, tender and tasty. Have the black treacle marinade, it adds a lovely dimension to the meat. Whatever you do, make sure you leave room fir the divine puds! They are HUGE. Laud back, gentle and peaceful dining, hosted wonderfully by John. Second time visit and the food was just as excellent as the first quality being second to none, staff were friendly, polite and efficient with nothing being to much trouble but due to covid protocol a tad more stand offish but cannot afford any blame that's how it is at present. Very good selection of beers, wines and spirits and all very reasonably priced. Selection of sweets to finish still very indulgent if not quite as many as first visit but again didn't spoil anything. Will definitely be back and if you want a meal better than just pub grub or have an occasion to celebrate and don't mind paying a little more for the experience then give it a try you definitely won't regret it.
Had an amazing meal at the Grove. The staff were so accommodating & welcoming. The steak was superb & desserts to die for. Can't recommend this little gem enough.
