I'd say give it a go. It's not the swanky in place it was years ago, when I last went, but a nice pub food feel and an outside pizza oven. Not much choice of beer tho. Service good. Pub garden and nice inside.

The swan reopened last Friday and it was amazing. Went back for Sunday roast and was best roast in the area by Miles. The new landlord is lovely and friendly and all staff very welcoming. Can't recommend enough.

The only reason I gave this 5 stars.....I can't give 10.
You'll be greeted by warm, friendly and professional staff, and you will receive one of the best roast dinners You'll ever have...second only to mum's.
You'll be made to feel so welcome that you won't rush ro leave.
You'll be given time to enjoy your meal, and time to let each course settle ...don't mistake this for having to wait, though you may have to because the staff are so personable and attentive ro every patron..
I am glad the chef is not my mum because I would be the size of a house..🙂

I have been visiting the restaurant since it was taken over by the French many years ago. Over the years whenever passing by on the M40 or antiquing around Oxfordshire, I would bring friends to have a lunch here. The food and service are both excellent. Occasionally, maybe some dishes are not to my personal taste, but I cannot fault the cooking. To all the reviewers complaining about the price, I would say this is reasonable price for the level of food provided. You could get lesser food for more money. But it would be next to impossible to find a place with the same quality for less money. Perhaps this is my London-centric bias.

I've now been a few times to the Swan. Always a wonderful experience. The owners and staff are so lovely and friendly. Always welcoming and very relaxed. Kid friendly, great drinks and amazing food. Not cheap, of course, but an occasion nonetheless.
