Been her for Sunday lunch. Food was fantastic and lots of it. Pub nicely decorated staff really really friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend you pay a visit.

We visited with our family and were made to feel very welcome. Great selection of drinks available. Looking at the pictures on other reviews the decor and seating has been renovated and improved. Is also dog friendly.
Would definitely recommend staying at this pub. The owners which have only been there 5 weeks were lovely and welcoming. The pub and accommodations where spotless and comfortable. Also our breakfasts and evening meals were cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
Lovely pub, booked a table to watch the England game, very friendly staff and decent food. Dog friendly too.

Under new management who are very friendly and welcoming. I stayed for one night while working in the area, the breakfast was top notch as was the home cooked lasagna. Bed was comfy, separate building from the main pub which keeps the noise quiet. I will stay here again next time I am working in this area. Good luck in in the new venture guys
Lovely clean/well decorated pub with good atmosphere, outdoor seating, friendly efficient staff & great menu with something for everyone! Despite being busy food was nice + hot with generous portions, so great value for money. There was a band setting up for live music later on, shame we don't live round the corner! Will definitely be back to try a Sunday roast 😋
Barman was friendly, good selection of beers, though don't go looking for food apparently the chef did a runner
Had a great stay overnight as we were going to Thirsk Races (10 min walk from the pub) very friendly staff and lively breakfast for the price we paid. Rooms basic, but for the price you pay they are clean and the bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay again due to the great location to the races.
Lovely pub/ restaurant close to thirsk Station. Decent quality pub grub on offer and usual drinks selection for a pub. Nice atmosphere but what set it apart was the quality of not only the welcome but the general service care and attention given by all the staff. Truly a joy to enjoy a meal and a drink here.
Had a weekend stay at a lodge in the area and visited the Vale of York for a meal. Can honestly say it provided the best food I have ever seen from a pub. Everything to the best quality and for a great price, along with excellent customer service. This paired with the convenient location and local atmosphere I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Tremendous.
Just been to The Vale for a meal 4 of us. Food, service and value for money were absolutely excellent. Very festively decorated. Will definitely be coming back and can 100% recommend. Thank you
