Called today for the first time, cannot put into words how tasty the corned beef pie was and the almond tart the staff are so pleasant & friendly. We sat outside in the garden watching the birds really nice atmosphere will definitely visit again 😋
Fantastic little gem I found randomly and decided to give it a try. Literally felt like I am visiting my grandma house, everything was so full with detail, so many plants and flowers around the place, we used the outdoor seating and was so comfortable and welcoming. The food fantastic quality as well, didn’t have a booking for afternoon tea but they did their best to prepare everything they can at the spot. Definitely give it a try, it’s rare to find a place like this ✨🍀
A bit of a hidden gem well worth searching out. Beautiful little garden as well as the comfy indoors. It rained today but the outside seating is under cover so we could still enjoy sitting out there. Food was lovely and the staff and locals all warm and welcoming. Hope to be back on a fine day and combine with a canal side walk.
A lovely little tearoom with outside seating. Garden has wildflowers and ducks. Food is fresh and homemade. Plenty of choice on breakfast and lunch menus. Cooked to order. Good choice of cakes for morning or afternoon coffees. A couple of car parking spaces, but also on street parking. Accessible as well.
Well worth a visit.
Thorne's hidden gem!! Afternoon Tea was delicious and reasonably priced. Nice & cosy, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Would highly recommend!!

Fabulous little place I've walked past it a few times and didn't know it was there, great space outdoors if it's warm, the people were friendly the food was great and we took some cakes home too, definitely recommend this local diner
Visited The Old Lockside Tearoom for the first time today. We came to celebrate my wife's birthday with our son and baby daughter.
We had the most amazing afternoon tea and the warm, friendly and welcoming service we received really made it a day we will always remember.
The food was fantastic and all homemade. Beautiful sandwiches, homemade quiche and homemade sausage rolls. They then made us eton mess and scones which were still warm from the oven.
They even did our little boy his own little afternoon tea and really made it special for him. He hasn't stopped talking about it all day and particularly loved meeting Monty and Mabel the resident ducks.
We went out to Shepherds Farm afterwards and also went out for a meal but Euan still says that the afternoon tea was his favourite part of the day.
Thank you so much. We will definitely be returning!
Lovely coffee and teacake it was nice and quiet and they even came out to give our 2 dogs a treat 🐕🐕🐾
