High-end pub grub.
Beautiful building and grounds.
Good menu with high quality food, though not very veggie friendly.
The desserts we tried were good, but not as good as the mains.
Great food, service could be a little better considering it wasn't too busy on a Friday lunchtime. After we were seated, it took a while for someone to come over to take our orders or to check on us. We opted to get our own drinks in the end.
Dog friendly is always a bonus!
Came for my birthday such beautiful food and excellent service. Will definitely visit again. Restaurant was very busy however we didn't wait too long for courses. Lovely waitress very nice and nothing was too much trouble.
Absolutely fantastic place to eat, I couldn't fault a thing.
Staff were super helpful and friendly, the food was delicious, the site was wonderful with lovely and distinctive bar, restaurant, patio, and teepee areas.
Atmosphere was great, was busy but not loud or crowded. There was plenty of parking available which was great.
A great selection of gluten free meals, and all staff who took and delivered orders were really clear about gluten free meals (asking about it when taking orders, and confirming when delivering food).
Dog friendly with a dog menu which was a really nice detail! Dogs looked to be allowed inside in the bar area.
The brownie dessert was one of the best I've had at a restaurant.
Toilets were immaculately kept. There was also a big ramp into the restaurant from the car park which meant great accessibility.
I would go out of my way to go back here again.
Our first visit was recommended by a friend who lives locally, great place to eat , food was really nice service was great, they said that food would be a while as they were busy however, it came pretty quickly. The lady who served us was really friendly. Thank you.
Big old country pub in a nice spot on the wirral. Several local changing ales on which are well kept. In the good beer guide.Fantastic building with Outdoor seating front and back. Laid back smart country vibe.Nice venue for weddings etc next door..Popular for food 🍻 🍷 🍲 🌳 🌲
Great food, service, and atmosphere. As soon as we walked in, we knew it was a great place to eat. We were seated next to their central fireplace and asked for drinks. A waitress came soon after and took our order. She apologised in advance for a slower service as they were so busy. It wasn't slow. We ordered squid and pil pil to share, and both ordered Sea Bream (we don't eat meat). All exceptional and more than pub grub. We had recommended Provence Rose, delicious. We finished by sharing the Rhubarb, Orange, and ginger sponge with custard. A big mistake shouldn't have shared! We'll be back soon as saw the fish and chips sail past a few times and got total food envy. Plenty of parking, toilets clean.
Went yesterday for afternoon teas with some family members for my mini baby shower and really enjoyed ourselves. Seated by a window in a quieter area which was fab and the young guy who served us after we were seated was friendly and very helpful. Food was delicious. Highly recommend and will definitely be back for another afternoon tea!
I photographed a wedding here (21st April), and the venue, food & staff were totally outstanding. Couldn't have asked for better. Looking forward to coming back!
Not only the biggest fish I've ever received but the best! And Mom said her lamb was delicious!
