The Wheel Inn

The pub has changed hands since my last visit and the menu was a lot less interesting. Having said that it may be because of the Covid situation and the things on offer were quite acceptable for lunchtime. We ate outside and the service was pretty good, my friend was offered tuna without the mayo on her jacket potato when she said she didn't like it with mayo. My chicken and bacon Caesar wrap was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff. The beer selection was not inspiring but my draught Bass was better than I remembered it being. I would definitely go again as they are trying hard, but would like more food and beverage options when the situation improves.

I can't praise the hospitality of people who run this place enough. My son was cut-off by floodwater yesterday and ended up taking refuge in the pub until I could safely get to him in a 4x4. The landlord and locals were really supportive and welcoming. When I eventually got there we had a good meal and waited until there was a safe route out (Thanks to the local chap who directed me). We’ll be going back again to visit under less stressful circumstances. I recommend the home made pies.
