Second time I’d been here (last time was 2years a go) and still an amazing experience. Great bar with a good range of beer/ale/cider with friendly staff. Then we get on to the food. Between the 5 adults we had Steak, Minted Lamb, Stake & Stilton and the Steak & Kidney Pud and they were all amazing. The 2 kids had a burger and a small pie and I can assure you that every element was eaten. Happy as anything and walked away with 12pies for the freezer too! Highly recommend
Popped in for lunch with hubby..unplanned...meals were lush...so much meat in pies and so tender....chips actually tasted like chips...or should i say potato..instead of processed fare from other places!!!! Its a fun novel place...staff are warm and fun...not intrusive or rushing of customers...Well done the pie factory!!! X
Great food. Enjoyed the brisket pie and awesome chips. Black pudding starter was good too. Service was a bit slack to start, stood waiting a while to be seated with no communication from various staff. Service was better later on.
They are always super busy, I wanted a take away but due to it being a Saturday night they were unable to accommodate however they offered frozen pie to cook at home for £3.50 each.. They were absolutely lovely and didn't take much time to cook at all.. I would love to eat in one day, pre booking a table may be necessary. However this did not affect my visit. N staff were very friendly and couldn't be more apologetic when they couldn't offer me the take away service. I would still recommend as the food was tasty
He we go. It was very good. The location might not be the best but it is what it is, where it is. The Pie's are great. The staff are excellent and the service brilliant. A visit won't break the band and quite frankly the portions are enough. You can always ask for more, bigger and better but the pie factory ticks the boxes for me. I was really impressed with the staff. They all seemed so willing to get on with the job, you don't always see that. I've mixed feelings about the Lumphammer bitter, but not a bad pint, the second one seemed better than the first, I'd be prepared to try it again. I shall be checking out the pies for my next visit.
Great theme for a pub, quirky and food is very good, so gets really busy at peak times. Food took slightly longer than expected but I booked a table for 7.30pm. So probably to be expected.
All table service so even drinks straight to you.
Price was reasonable for what we had, and all staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
My son couldn't believe there was a place that sold pies, he was in heaven.
Highly recommend and have a walk along the canals while you're in Tipton! We are a friendly bunch..
Fantastic Pie House/Factory! Had the steak and kidney pudding which was massive and packed full, the pastry was extremely good and moist and the orange/battered chips were great. Price is good and there is a full bar. People and atmosphere is family friendly. You can’t go wrong just don’t expect fine dining this is essentially a pub. Also has free parking.
Good solid pub grub and very reasonable prices. A touch of nostalgia going back to somewhere so famous in my youth. Still good and quirky as expected, but possibly not the place of yesteryear. However it is a lot better than when it fell into disrepair.
I would go again and will be happy to take others, a very respectable 4* not sure what would be need to make it 5* but it probably doesn't need to be.
We've been to the Pie Factory a few times now and it has always been fantastic. The pies are delicious and so are the puddings. This time we went for the carvery and boy was it worth it. 3 meats on offer and just the right amount of vegetables. It all tasted delicious and the kids enjoyed it too. A nice pint to wash it down and ice cream for the kids. Prices were fair I thought too. £9.50 for adults and £4.50 for the kids.
We booked most of the rooms as we had a darts tournament locally. There are 10 rooms. 5 have en suite bathrooms 5 don't. The rrms were clean and comfortable. The shared bathroom lock on one was a bit dodgy being a hook an eye on a sliding door but it was OK. Showers were good. Bathroom was clean.
The rooms were pretty soundproof so not a lot of noise to keep us up.
Staff in the restaurant and bar were friendly and happy even though they were running around like headless chickens serving a packed place.
We sat out on the decking and ordered. The pies were amazing and the best chips I have ever eaten!
The mixed grill served on a shovel was a source of entertainment all night.
All in all I would happily stay here again.
I'm fortunate to live near here and it was a frequent haunt long before it became the pie factory. Our eldest son wanted to go for his birthday meal there. My daughter in law and I had the hen pecked pie and my son and husband both had the steak pie (they would have liked steak and kidney but didn't want to do the desperate Dan challenge). Our granddaughter had sausage and mash. Overall lovely food and good service
Great food, everyone loved their meals. 2 vegans and 1 gluten intolerant person, we all had a lot to chose from. Great ciders, nice vibe. Very busy which was overwhelming the staff a little but they were doing well. I'm not keen on all of the decor but I think it works. We'll worth visiting!
