Review The Spotted Ox - Tockwith

We arrived at six pm on Sunday to discover they were still serving Sunday lunch and thankfully could fit us in. I had Sunday lunch and my husband had pie and chips. The Sunday lunch came with a selection of vegetables which I shared with my husband. The food was plentiful, piping hot, very tasty and good value. We were too full to have a dessert. The pub was quite busy with a warm friendly atmosphere and is frequented by the locals. The lady behind the bar was most helpful and the pub is dog friendly. We have booked to go for Sunday lunch again with friends.

Outstanding food in a lovely traditional pub. We had the black pudding fritters to start which were done to perfection followed by Seafood platter and Gammon. The platter was massive but each item was lovely. Salmon, mackerel, scampi, cod, prawn cocktail and salad. The plates were so big we had to seat staggered on the table as the plates wouldn’t quite fit 😁

Lovely to see the new owner has breathed some life back into the village pub and the food is excellent!

We read the previous feedback prior to the new owners. Disaster. With the new owners absolutely amazing. Attention to detail, second to none. We were a family/group of 9 and they made sure everyone was catered for, vegans included. Food tasted fabulous, atmosphere was great. The staff were across everything. If you don’t visit the Spotted Ox, it will be at your loss.

I have been more than welcomed in this pub. Alex is just amazing and all of his crew is lovely and friendly. Can't find any faults with the place. The food doesn't take long to be cooked and it tasted just amazing, the pub is clean and tidy and its the perfect place to have a chill or a lovely dinner. Even if you're not local, like myself, I still would recommed you visit. 10/10 you won't be disappointed

Recently moved to the village and we are very lucky to have this pub as our local. Friendly and welcoming with fabulous food (... & a decent pint, says hubby!). Had the Sunday roast 3 times so far ... also had seabass on a weeknight which was absolutely fabulous👌

I reserved a table for a large group of people and the staff were incredibly accommodating, attentive and helpful. The food was fantastic and really well priced. There were 16 of us and 16 clean plates. Would highly recommend!

A real village pub. This family run pub in Tockwith is everything a village pub should be with good beer and choice of drinks at reasonable prices to some fantastic homemade food. Having eaten through the week, the sausage and mash was delightful with super creamy mash and tasty sausages. On a Sunday the Sunday roast is very good with beautiful cuts of meat and a good selection of vegetables. This pub has a real village pub interior and fits perfectly into its surroundings. The pub always has different events on such a pubs quizzes and other raffles. If you are in Tockwith make sure you visit the Spotted Ox.

Just like to say what amazing food you put on for sandy Beaton funeral yesterday the staff were very helpful and friendly. U did his family proud.

Lovely home made food great service and locals were lovely

A great village pub with great food and an amazing range of beers,and also gins and spirits.Best kept Tetley's for miles around and Great Fish and Chips,Steaks and a very good range of specialswich they change quite often, the pub has outside seating and also a good size beer garden with the old blacksmiths shop adjoining it which can can be hired for a private function,we had our granddaughters christening here and it was great as we could have bouncy castles in the beer garden and use the old blacksmiths shop as well which i think can hold around 80 if we had needed it to just use without the beer garden.

Food is discussing, cheap rubbish, Sunday dinner hahaha vile !! Don't waste you money get a mc Donald's !!!! Ps never going back,,,
