Hands down, best pastries and cakes I've ever had the pleasure of tasting and I've eaten a lot of afternoon teas and pastries from Harrods to The Ritz to the individual little French pastry houses. I adore this place, please don't change.
My wife & I found this 'hidden gem' which we never knew existed today, as we live just outside Newton Abbot. We only intended to pick up a cake each for lunch but when we went inside we decided to eat in & enjoyed a steak slice, cheese & onion slice, tart au citron, custard slice, with a cappuccino & a cup of tea. The young lady who served us was really friendly. I must say the choice of pastries was wonderful we actually felt that we were in a cafe or patisserie in France! We will certainly visit again as there were so many delicious pastries to choose from......
Nice local patisserie with savoury and sweet delights on offer. Quiche is very nice, usually 3-4 different types on offer. Savoury pasties too meaty and cheesy ones. Offers hot or cold, take out or sit in but only a couple of tables. Cakes of course are al spot on Opera cake especially nice 😊
My mum loves this patisserie and often takes me when I'm visiting from university. The cakes are tasty and usually don't disappoint. There are a couple that sometimes miss but otherwise a great patisserie, probably the best in Torquay.
Always makes me smile artistic and flavoursome bakes soooo good we love the custard slices and almond croissants a real yummy place x
I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter. Best cake we have had for a long time. Perfectly baked, not to sweet either. The whole family enjoyed it. The coffee and all the other cakes and bakes were fab too. Recommended.
I moved from Henley on Themes & London, used to harrods and Patisserie Valerie, but can assure you this is the best patisserie ever, everything is always fresh, beautifully presented bakery and the most exquisite taste!!!!!!!!! Delicious and stunningly looking pieces, not just cakes!!!!!!!!!!! Recommend absolutely everyone, we are there once a week and not only do we get our deserts from there but also bread (quality like at Lympstone Manor), but also pork pies, quiches and the most delicious pastries!!!!!!!!
Fabulous cake from Master Baker Philippe,
thank you so much excellent service, superb
quality and outstanding taste.
Will definitely recommend and use again
Bought a couple of cakes to take away when passing through and some cheese straws. Straws OK, but cakes amazing. Carrot cake so moist with such a light topping and the meringue/topped banana/fruit cake ‘thingy’ was amazing, such a light meringue - wish we’d bought more!
We stopped for a drink on a warm and sunny Saturday morning, sat outside, and had two coffees and a croissant. I hardly drink coffee now but it seemed the moment for a machiatto, and it was mind blowingly good. Our visit was a delight and I'd love to return!
Popped in for a couple of danish pastries, an éclair and sausage rolls for tea. Well made, delicious and very tasty - the kind of pastries that just have to be eaten on the day. Propriatress busy rather than chatty, but not a problem.
Every time I go to this patisserie I am left in awe. How the cakes look and taste so wonderful without fail astounds me. Philippe the Chef is so talented, friendly and he never has an issue with making a birthday cake even if you ask for one the day before the big day!
Both members of staff are very helpful and super polite. They both obviously love the food being sold in the shop and you can tell they are proud to work here. The sandwiches are made to order so you will never have as fresh a sandwich on homemade French bread in your life.
The bread made here every day is so delicious and their new dine in menu is wonderful. I have never eaten a bad thing from this shop and I would recommend going to every body who wants a mouthwatering lunch either takeaway or dine in.
