Flippin Fresh

Interesting fish and chip shop experience. Ordered a piece of flake, spring roll and one potato cake. My friend ordered a minimum chips. Flake was beautiful with a light crisp batter although it was a little smaller than I expected. Instead of a spring roll I received two small mini spring rolls. These appeared home made or came from a manufacturer I hadn’t experienced before. These were also yummy. Potato cake appeared home made. All the food seemed very very fresh and yummy. One the down side, flake was smaller than expected, spring rolls were nowhere near as filling as a normal large spring roll. I left this fish and chip shop still feeling hungry, which I have never done before. Worst of all was waiting for the meal to be cooked. With only one customer before us we waited waited and waited for our meal to be ready. At least 25 minutes. In conclusion, I will visit this fish and chip shop again as the food was very very nice. Hopefully they will read this review and lift their game. Increase the food portions, speed up delivery of service and you’ll never be wanting customers.

I'll be honest, $10 for some chips that tasted 4 days old? Not so nice. Everything was overly oily and tasted quite cheap which is shocking since I spent over $60 to feed only 3 people. I live in Gippsland and fish and chips never cost more than $30 for the size meal I got.. really felt ripped off, super disappointed considering this is in a beachside town.. I'd suggest going elsewhere in hopes of better quality for your money.

This take out has gone downhill. Been going for over 3 years and the past 4 months the quality has reduced and the service if you can call it service is bad. Tried to do a phone order no answer, went there and not one staff member was able to service me, so walked out. So sad for a fish and chip shop that was outstanding.

I was disappointed with my experience at Flippin Fresh, firstly there was no flake available, ok no big deal. Still ordered without the flake, I ordered 4 dim sim, 4 potato cakes, 1 battered sav and a minimum chips, paid $20 Service was good, food was ready in 10 mins like she said, but we found it to be lacking in flavour, the dims came as 8 small mini ones instead of 4 regular one like I ordered, there was no mention of them being minis. The chips were nothing special either. I won’t be in a hurry to try this place again.

Been coming to Torquay for families holidays for the last 8 years, and always head to Flippin Fresh for a feed. Always impeccable! Haven’t been for a trip for a hot minute due to COVID, but finally managed a tiny sneak away with our kids… obviously we went to our old faithful. WELL!! What the HECK has happened?!???!! Food was awful - and when I say awful, I mean inedible. We have $50 worth of fish and chips in the bin, and what we did manage to eat was not worth the calories and sick, greasy after-feeling. I’m unsure whether it’s been bought out during the pandemic or what, but it was by far the WORST fish and chips I’ve ever eaten and we will NOT be back. Yuck. Also. The young girls working need to tie their hair up!!!! Hair flopping around everywhere, flailing over everyone’s dinner. Sweeping their hair out of their faces with their hands (no gloves) and then touching customers food. Foul!!!!
