We ate here, twice for lunch, on a recent weekend in Torquay.
Met by friendly staff and it was easy enough to order. We shared 2 chips and a chicken and mushroom pie for one lunch and 1 regular fish and chips for the 2nd lunch. We shared as staying in half board accommodation.
Chips tasted good, very fresh, crunchy outside and light fluffy on the inside. Best chips had in a long while. Chicken pie was good! Nicest pie, think it was a Pukka variety. Golden brown top, hot and lovey filling, and the pie pastry was warm, soft and so nice. The fish was well battered, fish was lovely and soft and melted in the mouth, really fresh and cooked well.
The only bad thing is that Fishonados is a 560 mile round trip, so unable to go that often!
We have been coming to this fish&chip restaurant during our annual trips to Torquay for the past 5 years. It serves the most delicious cod and chips. Reasonably priced and great portion. Beautiful seaview - we sat outdoors.
Fantastic fish and chips cooked to order. A good-sized portion. Light crisp batter, with the fish just cooked through, remaining fleshy & juicy. Chips were nice and crispy with a fluffy centre.
Friendly service. We had large fish and chips each and it was absolutely delicious. Really hot and fresh and the salt and vinegar was perfect! A good large portion that I struggled to finish, but it was so tasty that I had to power through!
My favourite chippy in Torquay. Everything I want. Beautifully flaky fish and batter is super crispy, and perfect "chippy" chips.

Probably the best fish & chips I’ve ever had. Crispy batter and not a sign of grease anywhere. Tip for new visitors, there is nothing mini about the mini cod. Great serving size.
Excellent fish and chips... freshly cooked, plenty of it and not a greasy mess. Service was quick, despite being very busy. There is indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the sea. Last but not least... prices are very reasonable. Recommended!
Delight place near the water, great to take those fish n chips to the beach or eat outside their place. Fish not oily like most places with a light tasty batter, as are the chips. Highly recommend

Ordered fish and cheesy chips, which were delicious. Portions are huge and reasonably priced. The fish was fresh, the batter was so crispy.
Great food. Would definitely go back if we are in that area. We sat outside as there are amazing view of the sea and part of the harbour.
We visited on the hottest day of the year in the UK, blissfully we had average temperatures and even a little rain. We went into the Fishoinados partly to get out of the rain. We went in with a dog, the staff we wlvery welcoming and friendly. The food arrived very quickly and wad obviously cooked to order. The only picture I have is of the bay...
Just a good old- fashioned chip shop with tasty fish and generous portions. Have been several times and it's always good.
Reasonable price with excellent portions. Lovely fresh cod, curry nice and fruity, chips fresh with a nice crisp to them. Recommended 👍
Proper fish and chips. Started going there a few weeks ago and didn’t realise what I was missing. Please don’t change anything.

The fish (cod) was very freash and tasty. The chips were not crispy but didn't taste fried - so also very good. They sell Hunter Beer....what more do you need along with the view. I'll be back.
Oh my goodness...literally the best Fish and chips we have ever eaten. Choice of eating in outside or take away. Lovely father and son who own this.
