It's a breath of fresh air to see a proper pub that serves nice classic pub grub. Well worth a visit if your parched or hungry, we can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Great to be in a busy traditional pub. Excellent service from the friendly chap behind the bar both Monday & Tuesday. The food was excellent, homemade lasagna & steak pie was really tasty & well presented. Will definitely return when we're next in the area.

A halfway house for those climbing the steep hill, great range of real ales served, an attractive curved frontage to the pub is unusual.

So we visited Totnes on the Sunday of a bank holiday where many eateries were closed. This place seemed nice with its outdoor “pop-up” terrace to enjoy the last of this summer’s alfresco dining! I went in the pub to order which is very nicely done out, a lot smaller than it looks from outside but a nice cosy atmosphere. We ordered two burgers and a ham sandwich for my 2yr old (nothing else on the menu for him really, it would be nice to see a children’s section but maybe they don’t want kids there really, hey-ho..) with a few glasses of coke and a fruit shoot came to just under £50. Somewhat steep if I’m honest. The guy behind the bar who served me was very good, polite, friendly etc. The food came out via the waitress who asked us if we wanted any sauces etc, promptly brought them before rushing off. Fair enough she was busy so I’ll let her off, admittedly we did have burgers, but, some cutlery for the salad and chips would of been good!!! The beef in the burgers was clearly high quality, very tasty too. The ham sandwich was good quality too. Overall a good experience but a bit pricey really so 4/5 from me.

Friendly, efficient staff. Felt very clean & safe. The food was of a really good quality & home-made. The beef in my burger came from a local butcher & so, I expect did the other meat. For any dog owners, thought I'd confirm that they allow well behaved dogs inside.

What a treat, a full monty ‘roast’ steak pie lunch wiv all the trimmings for £10.95. The rest of the menu looked great too and no doubt the portion size will fill you up 👍😋

What an amazing venue. First of all the staff are brilliant, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food is excellent, all of my party had something different and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the best of our holiday, and the mess as is we’re worth every penny, the prices are very reasonable. Nice rang of drinks and an amazing atmosphere, I would happily return if I’m ever in totnes.

Bar tender seemed like he had enough, not engaging, asked if the roast could have two meats, no, asked if I could pay extra, no. Cutlery thrown on the table no interaction, I've worked customer service and I get he's all on his own but after trying to interact there was no middle ground. The guy in the weist coat that came out after 10/10 great guy, he was switched on and ran a good service. Roast was incredible, my friend that doesn't eat sides very often are everything. Roast comes in top 3 behind the Old Rydon and then the Hare and Hounds.

Very swanky waterfront pub. We didn't dine on this visit but the food looked lovely. Friendly, clean and relaxed in a lovely setting, what more could you ask for?
