We have a caravan near by - it's a pub that hasn't been changed still like a local friendly and the food is excellent and the beer is good too - home from home - and your best friend the hairy kind can sit with you in the lean to there is an outside are with tables and a small play are for small kiddies all you need then is the sunshine !!!
Used to come here as a child. Came here with my children for half term. The new owners have done a great job in giving the place a refresh whilst keeping the traditional and cosy atmosphere. The place looks great, fantastic local beer, great service and incredible food. The fish and chips was spot on. Great to see such an important pub in great hands and thriving.
Called in for Tea. Very tasty food and good beer. Starters were Crab Cakes and Prawns in Garlic Butter and Cheesy Garlic Bread to share, then we both had Beef Teriyaki with Chips and Rice. Very tasty. Service was great, staff were friendly and helpful. Will call again when next down that way.
Great value food and excellent choice. Beer great, best of the local brews. Staff so friendly too. Been done up iver the last year and done a fantastic job. Can't wait to come back!
Lovely meal , homemade and good sized portions.
Local cask ales being looked after well, one went off and the lines were being cleaned thoroughly which was good to see.
Been newly decorated and new seat covers, garden was under development with new decking coming very soon.
Would recommend.
We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Lion yesterday. The staff were great and our dog was very welcome in the dog friendly area. Would highly recommend and we will be back soon.
A comfortable friendly atmosphere. Service outstanding and food impeccable. Clean and comfortable rooms with a fantastic breakfast, a great place to stay. Will definitely be going back.
Took a while for food, but it was full, so understandable. But glad we waited, food was amazing. Everyone (including picky kids) loved it! Worth paying a bit extra to eat here. We were worried that it was just going to be cheap pub food, but we were incorrect in our assumptions. Staff were lovely, food was great. Can't fault it.
My friends stayed here the last 3 nights , said they had lovely rooms ,comfy beds.excellent service and very friendly and excellent breakfast.the rest of us were camping!
11 of us had a meal in dining room, everyone was happy with their meals, excellent service by very helpful young waitress and others .

A place we always try to come to on our visits to the area. The Lion has always been a consistent highlight and again this time did not disappoint.
The menu has changed slightly since our last visits - perhaps a little less choice and some of the food was slightly different (clearly we are too predictable if we noticed!) Prices have also gone up but that is no surprise, but it was all still good value and great quality. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals including the desserts.
Our visit was in the half term holidays and the weather was beautiful sun, so the pub was very busy - had to wait for about an hour for food - but the garden is pleasant and sunny to wait in and the kids found entertainment with the slides/swings and playing in the bushes!
Had lovely meals here: chicken curry and the scampi, were very tasty and good portions. Only negative was the pint of ale I had was a bit disappointing. Quick and polite service
