A surprising gem in the heart of ulverston. The mill has retained all its olde worlde charm with sympathetic decor and the original millwheel featured at its heart. Lunch was towards top end fare and significantly better than standard pub grub available in your average gastropub. Farely priced. Very enjoyable few hours in the sun. Will definitely return.
Not been here for food in years. Between 4 of us there were no complaints whatsoever. All the food, mains and desserts were gorgeous and staff very attentive.
Just called in for a couple of drinks, lovely old pub with a great ambiance.
Plenty of choice of real ale and friendly service. Great place to have a meal with a separate dining area or in the var area. Recommended!
Gorgeous spot, loads of places to sit. Indoors and outdoors. Food is gorgeous, thought they're not overly generous on the portions. Service was impeccable. Will come again.
Lovely building for a pub with a lot of the original features still in place including the water wheel. Good range of drinks available and lots of seating in its various rooms.
Fantastic place! We rocked up with 6 adults 2 kids and 2 dogs very welcoming and good ale!
No mither from the staff very welcoming!
recommend this place 100%
Visited The Mill purely as they had vegan options. Ordered spiced carrot soup, beetroot and vegan feta salad and two cauliflower risottos. The food was fabulous, good sized portions, satisfying and full of flavour.. The cauliflower, spinach and pine nut risotto was the Rolls Royce of risottos, I've had some terrible risottos in the past, chef did a great job with his version. Service was great too, our waiter had only worked there a week having previously worked at Wray Castle, he was brilliant. Would definitely revisit when next in Ulverston.
Great pub with cosy interior, food generously portioned and quality at an above average standard for pub grub. I enjoyed a cheese and potato pie (vegetarian) which had a rustic, homemade feel to it - perfect for a autumn/winters day. Dogs welcome.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Excellent food and a good range of gluten free options. Generous portions.
Food is fantastic, great menu which is not over complicated or too many choices, but what you get is very tasty and well presented. Very good choice of beers. A very comfortable bar and restaurant for a nice meal and a few beers. The staff are very attentive and on the ball when it comes to looking after the customers they are an asset to the business, well done guys.
Friendly place good food
Rooftop dining and bar defo go again and dog friendly bonus ....
Called in on the Saturday afternoon of the lantern festival and lots of reserved tables but the manager said as soon as one is free we could have it in no time at all he had one ready for the 4 of us ordered the drinks and food at the bar a great range of real ales, draught beers, wines and spirits. really helpful bar staff (dave I think he was called) took the order and checked everything thoroughly. the food came within about 20 minutes and looked fantastic 3 of us had pies (steak ,chicken and ham) and the other had a tomahawk gammon all arrived with chips and roasted vegetables. I cut in to my steak pie to find it packed with meat and some wonderful silver skin onions the pastry was absolutely delicious as well so light and tasty. the gammon looked great but I think I made the right choice the manager came over to check on us after meals arrived to make sure all was well. we did look at the deserts when ordering our mains but we were too full to have anything this time all in all. It was a great visit and next time we are in Ulverston we look forward to a return visit
