Lovely chips. But I cant comment on the rest of the menu as I didn't have anything else. Definitely go again.
Being a Monday my usual place closeby was closed. Glad tried this as chips and all food purchased was really good. Chips were freshly cooked, really good, and spring roll was really really tasty. Steady stream of customers and nice staff.
Was recommended to go here on a trip up to Ulverston. Staff are lovely, very busy place.. but service was very good. We ate inside and was very clean. Had Fish, Chips, peas and gravy!, it is by far the tastiest chippy yea I've ever had!!, was told it was good but exceeded my expectations.
I wonder if the negative reviews are from competitors???
Took my friend here thinking that she wanted fish and chips but she ended up having a cheeseburger whilst I was on a vegetarian goal so I ordered chips, cheese and gravy (£5.60).
Wow, never look down on a simple dish! This took me back to my childhood memories being brought up in a takeaway and having gravy chips as my supper. The additional cheese was a 'luxury' to what I used to have. It was very filling and it lasted me the whole day even after the hike to Sir John Barrow Monument and walking back to Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre, I didn't need dinner.

Think we got the end of the batch of chips. Fish was a bit greasy but tasty. Still the best chippy in Ulverston.
2 Fish and 2 chips with a tub of tar tar sauce, curry sauce and mushy peas between the 2 of us for £19, absolute bargain and tasted amazing. Going back tomorrow for more 👍👍👍
Always nice fish and chips served here, you can tell the potatoes used are of good quality,& the fish served is fresh plus the frying oil I would say is probably changed regularly which makes a huge difference to the quality. I eat the curry sauce here but I've had better. Perhaps not as bigger portion size as some other chippy's but on the whole very nice fish and chips

Chip shop lunch while walking around Ulverston shops. Standard scampi, chips and peas. Food nice enough, friendly staff. Good to have sit down chip shop in the town... seating perhaps a little oddly arranged...high stools to eat at high wall mounted shelf table, large 6 seater table in middle which we ended up taking and only two of us which felt wrong to us.
The food here is great that's why it's always very busy but unfortunately the service is slow as there is only room for 1 server they could possibly serve 2 customers at a time if they got rid of the plastic screen, I was 8th in a queue and waited 15 mins to be served. unfortunately this is the 3rd time this has happened but it wont again as the £2.50 chip portions are seriously small it wasn't worth the wait
