One of the best Chinese takeaway meals I've had in a very long time. Hot & sour soup was delicious. So were Szechuan chicken and king prawn curry with Singapore fried rice. Portions were very generous. Prawn crackers could've been crispier but couldn't fault the main meals. Personally I find that Chinese meals are usually on a salty side but not the ones we ordered today. Would definitely be back if in the area again.
We had a huge menu for 8 adults and 5 children and asked for delivery the meal was going to take a little longer but they phoned to update us. We all couldn't fault the food it was excellent and all the food was piping hot, the OK ribs were fabulous. Highly recommended by us all.

Friendly and helpful service. Nicer in side, don't let jaded exterior put you off. We had the early bird menu (on all night so misnamed) and we had a job finishing it off. Good quality a d value for money.

I was genuinely surprised at how familiar I found the food at Lotus to be. We ordered the Char Siew Chow Mein, King Prawn Fried Rice, Chicken with Brocoli, and Beef with Mushrooms.
Apart from the beef which was rather bland, the rest was very competently cooked and tasty!
The fried rice was fluffy and had generous portion of prawns, and the noodles were springy and delicious.
Overall, A truly worthy Chinese option in the Lake District.
Always had good food from them and courteous staff. Food is always freshly prepared and hot.
Don't be mistaken by the appearance of this business. Fantastic food and loads of it. Worth every penny.
Lovely tasty food enjoyed by all of us, shame we were only visiting, but if we stayed in the area again we would definitely have a takeaway from there!
Just had the Crispy Beef in OK and Thai Special. Absolutely spot on! Honestly can't fault it. Keep it up, Lotus, and we will definitely be back.
The Salt and Pepper box at £11.50 or £13.50 delivered is exceptionally good and great feedback on this too.. I buy one every week.....
