Was just passing through when I found this place, lovely pub, good outside area on a nice day, dog friendly like most good country pubs, drinks were good price, they serve a nice pint, will definitely return when in the area.

Stayed here a couple of nights as we had a wedding nearby, the owners were very friendly & helpful, locals were friendly. Pub itself is a lovely old building with seating out the front, bar has a good selection of drinks, the rooms are clean, cosy, have all the amenities, & breakfast has good range of options. Would definitely stay here again.

Great pub - perfect hosts, quality beer and good, honest food all in a beautiful setting. We feel very lucky to have it as a local community centre!

Popped in with friends for quick refreshments. Cute little traditional pub with indoor and outdoor seating. Some parking out back and seating out front. We sat outside. Benches looking a little tired and mismatched. Broken wooden fixtures piled up around front of building (probably due to some sort of referbishment)
Staff friendly and service good, locals a bit rude but that's not pubs fault.
One of our drinks (thatchers fruit) tasted a bit off (stale and musty) maybe due to dirty pipes or not being very popular.
But everything else was good at reasonable prices.
Lovely toilets, indoor seating, food and coffee available at certain times.
Didn't eat so unable to review food.
Would revisit if ever in area 😁

This place has got so much history in it. It blew our minds knowing we were in a place which was built in the 16th century!!!. The owners are amazing. There was nothing they wouldn't do for us. We had a meal in the evening and it was outstanding 👌. Breakfast was plentiful and so good. It is under renovation ATM but it didn't get in the way of our stay. There's so much character in the place. Definitely be back .

We stayed for two nights over a weekend. We stayed in the family room. The rooms were very spacious and the bathroom was amazing. We had dinner on arrival which was really good value for money and delicious. We had a cooked breakfast both mornings. My son is a fussy eater, on the first morning he had bacon and toast. We asked for hash browns on the side but we were informed they didn’t do hash browns with the breakfast
( which was fine ) On the Sunday we went down for breakfast and the owner had bought hash browns especially for my sons breakfast. Such a lovely sweet thing to do. Nothing was too much trouble.
Highly recommend

We went for lunch which was well cooked and well presented. Clean plates all round! Maybe a little bit expensive but it was a quaint old pub with a nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Also very dog friendly.
Would definitely visit again.
