Good old Optimist, I've been coming here for years on and off. A group of us had some afternoon bites and a few drinks in the beer garden. Order via the app worked well, and the service was prompt. Food was a good standard, although we only ordered sharing nachos and a soup!

Popped into The Optimist recently for dinner, was served quickly at the bar by a very friendly member of staff, had a wonderful dinner which was great value for money and tasted great! We ordered from the set menu, and the portion sizes were really impressive. Lots of choice also!
The pub was clean

Food was lovely, didn’t wait too long.
Lyndsay who served us was very polite, helpful and lovely atmosphere from her and the place!

Great afternoon had at the optimist tavern for a family birthday. We booked a large table which was ready when we arrived. Food was perfect and bar staff couldn’t do enough. service was amazing! all staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. managers were very attentive and the food was divine. highly recommend, will definitely be going back.

A really good refurb’ ! Staff are super lovely, food good & yes it takes time but don’t rush a good thing. I’ve also booked Wednesday curry night after todays Sunday lunch which was more than ample & tasty… I’m a good cook so that take a lot to write! Well done Charlotte & Elisha… fab bar service
We have just had a superb family lunch at The Optimist Tavern in Upminster. The pub is in a quiet area and was not overly busy while we were there which we prefer. The food was lovely, well cooked and plenty of it. The staff were very busy looking after the bar and food but looked after us well. The

A friend recommened me to come here. First time being here. Nice place. Plenty of free customer parking. Went there at 12 for lunch. You can queue at the bar to order or I used the app to order and pay for food and drinks to the table and everything was great. Only 2 hour timeslot for a table given.
Really great food here. My Husband and I enjoyed it so much, the staff were very welcoming and the food was just amazing. Can't wait to come back 😋
