I literally cannot say enough good things about this place. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is wonderful and very fitting to the type of place this is. Without a doubt my new favorite place to be.
What a lovely stay I had here. It's peaceful and quiet. You have deer walking in the field right next to you. There's little squirrels running around on the grass and I even saw a hare do a dash across the lawn. The little cottage was warm and cozy with all the appliances you could wish for. The washer and dryer was a life saver.
Everything here shouts five stars. The people which work here are fantastic, and they give off a vibe which most five star hotels can't even give you. They don't treat you as a customer, but as a friend. Nothing is too much for these people to give, and they make you feel like you fit into their local community. Breakfast is fantastic.. and I will be honest, I'm funny when it comes to beer, but their own brand is really nice. If you ever do consider a hotel, then this should be number one on your list.
Nestled in the charming village of Upton Magna is The Haughmond Inn plus bakery plus coffee shop. What a treasure this place is; friendly, welcoming owner and staff, clean well kept rooms, good food including the fabulous bakery bread, cakes and pies. Breakfast was an absolute highlight, served in the restaurant. Original and inspirational food. We stayed in one of the dog friendly rooms and it was great. We never once felt we were given an inferior room or table in the restaurant (unlike other places where we have stayed with our dog). Three cheers and thank you to the whole team!
Fantastic food, excellent service and a fine menu. We visited as a family group of 12,(6 adults, 6 children) and were not left disappointed. Varied, fish-heavy menu although excellent beef and duck as well. All left satisfied and happy. A stop well worth making
Stayed here for one night, the rooms were beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. We arrived about 8.45pm and was greeted very nicely by a young lad, but the other lad who was serving behind the bar, was quite unpleasant and very rood. However when we put our complaint over it was delt with straight away the next morning, by the very kind manager of this outstanding property. The breakfast was outstanding also and the morning staff were amazing. Definitely stay here again.
We booked one of the dog friendly rooms which are outside the main building, it was starting to look a bit tired. When I booked online there was no obvious sign that there would be an extra charge for the dogs so I was surprised to be charged an additional £40 for the night
Lovely comfortable stay, they were very accommodating of our late check in and early start on a Sunday morning. Would recommend and go back again
2nd time at The Haughton and it was excellent as before. Evening meal was superb and service outstanding.
Thank you for a lovely stay!
Fantastic lunch in a lovely inside setting.
The staff are attentive and happy to help.
Food was superb. Presentation was 1st class and it was fresh and tasty.
Homemade chips are divine also.
Lovely pub:hotel. I stayed for one night in the Fallow room. Quite small, but very comfortable. Thin walls, so you can hear people next door, but it’s a super quiet location. I opted to stay here after staying at The Premier Inn in Shrewsbury the month earlier. I wanted a more organic experience.
Arrived 9PM at night and was told there would be no food to order, sadly. That’s the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. Staff were very friendly and the the beer on tap was lovely. The only thing I felt the room needed was fire exit instructions on the back of the door; that tells you how many commercial hotels I’ve started in! I’m surprised the H&S inspector hasn’t mentioned this. Anyway, it’s a lovely spot in a beautiful part of Shropshire. I would definitely stay again!!
