We visited for the first time Saturday 14 October, we travelled from Chesterfield and arrived an hour before it closed. But there was no fish left and very few chips left. We managed to get the last couple of portions of chips and peas, which were lovely, but people behind us in the queue got nothing. We were disappointed in not getting any fish and not sure I would make the trip again for that reason.

It is definitely worth going you do queue for a long time but best fish and chips you will ever taste done with coal only one in britain the rest of them are in museums

I have driven here from Mansfield tonight and by god was it worth best fish n chips I've ever had. Met a lovely lady in queue and she ordered me a jumbo haddock. All the ladys were lovely and welcoming. I will be back after your holidays.

Outstanding place, the fish and chips were definitely some of the best I've ever had and the homemade curry sauce is better than ive had in restaurants. The price is very reasonable too, cant wait to go again

Came here for fish and chips yesterday and I must say they are the best we have ever tasted. It's lovely to see an old fashioned style chip shop still in use. Didn't know it existed until recently even though we don't live far away. Will definitely be returning.

Absolutely, 100%, hands down the best fish and chips I've ever had! The curry sauce is fantastic, I won't ever be ordering curry sauce from a chippy again, this is far superior than anything else I've had. Only a shame I live 250 miles away. Highly recommend and I'm so pleased I was able to experience this unique fish and chip shop. Many thanks.

Wow. You can't beat fish and chips cooked in beef dripping on a coal fired range. I never have curry sauce, but I did this time and I'm glad I did. Well worth queueing for. Well worth travelling for. Delicious. Friendly staff.
