Delicious Iranian cuisine and very friendly people

Had a great meal here last night, bread & hummus and meat samosas to start, then the fish (salmon) stew and one of the lamb stews, fish and lamb cooked perfectly, different stews were very nice, baklava to finish was excellent, nice bottle of Malbec to accompany the food. Lovely service, owner spoke with us about the food once we’d finished. Will definitely be back 👍👍

As an Iranian living in Urmston for 40 years, we have often had to travel far to appreciate a good Persian meal. Now we have an excellent restaurant on our door step and within walking distance. We had a stuffed pepper (Dolmeh) and the aubergine starter (Kashk Bademjan), both very tasty and accompanied by home made flat bread. For the main, we had a fillet of lamb kebab, which was melt in the mouth amazing. For anyone wanting to try Persian cuisine, this is a wonderful place to start. Nice surroundings and very friendly staff, we will definitely be returning.

Good food and good service. I'm not an expert on Persian cuisine but was certainly different from the usual fare and none the worse for that. The salad Oliveh was wonderful. I'd have had it for all 3 courses if I could.

Decided to try out J Grill on Flixton Road Saturday night. What can I say apart from it was fabulous. It was a treat for my wife's birthday. The staff were great they are so passionate about the food they serve. The starters were very generous the Falafel was amazing.
I decided to be greedy and try the most expensive main on the menu the J Grill Special which consisted of a very large Koobideh kebab a boneless chicken kebab consisting of 6 very large pieces of chicken breast and a boneless lamb kebab consisting of 6 very large pieces of succulent tender lamb fillet. It came with salad a large portion of saffron rice and a mild and hot Persian sauce on the side. It could easily have fed 2 people with an extra rice.
My wife had Zereshk polo with Joojeh which was chicken on the bone stewed in a tomato based sauce with saffron rice and salad. The chicken was succulent and fell off the bone it was fab.
The wine is no more expensive than any of the other restaurants locally. The food is a bit pricier than the local curry houses but for a reason. They only use top quality meats butchered on site I.e. boned, proportioned and minced on site not slaughtered. You can taste the difference.
We will definitely be returning. Oh and the sweets are all made on site too and to die for.
I have no affiliation to the J Grill I only knew it existed last week. What I do have is a passion for good food yes it isn't as cheap as some of the other local restaurants but in my mind you get what you pay for.
