The Chainbridge Inn

First time here ,upon arrival the bedroom was cold ,dog hairs on the cushion,no bin in the bedroom,no bag in the bin in the bathroom,no plug socket by the kettle,had to put kettle on the floor to boil it which is not sensible ,should have at least a small table by the electric point to have the kettle on,little things count,attention to detail,on the positive note we had dinner in the evening,we both enjoyed our meals,my partner had fish and chips,I had beetroot burger with lovely homemade chips,nice beer for £5,nice location,big car park,benches outside,2 tents overlooking the river,nice pub inside,the table was set but I noticed when I sat down the staff should of given it a good clean,wondered why it was only a 2 star rating.

We all talked about the “new normal” after Covid but in my opinion, the new normal never arrived, just lack lustre food and poor service NOT THIS PLACE THOUGH! We’ve just had a fantastic spur of the moment Sunday lunch here. Great food and great service. Highly recommended if you’re a meat eater. I’ve not rated the rooms as we didn’t stay.

It is a lovely pub with ample sized carpark, and the bar and restaurant are really cosy and nicely decorated. The staff are fabulous, happy, friendly, and helpful. We didn't dine in, but plenty of people did, and the food looked delicious and well presented. The toilets are clean, fresh, well equipped, and pleasantly decorated. 💯 recommend this place for young families as there's play equipment at the bottom of the outside seating area, it's a lovely place for all!

Table booked day in advance so they knew numbers booked for Sunday lunch. BUT they ran out of cauli cheese and parsnips. Short on roast spuds?? 2 on plate. What we had was great tasting food but when your menu says these things are served with your meal. ???? They should be there even if the table is booked for mid afternoon.

Can't really rate the rooms as we only popped in for lunch. As it wasn't too busy, there was plenty of space in the car park and we could be accommodated even though we hadn't booked Menu wasn't massive but there was plenty of choice and there was a nice selection of drinks. I wouldn't normally go for a steak sandwich as I'm quite funny about the quality of the meat, but the steak with mushrooms and caramelised onions sounded delicious....and it really was! Loads of good quality steak cooked to perfection and it was so tasty! Accompanied with (what I believe) homemade coleslaw and real chips, it really was a treat. Husband opted for the fish finger sandwich 🙄 which he enjoyed but said there was far too much rocket which took over the taste of the fish but it was a problem easily remedied ourselves. Portions were perfect and well worth the £12.95. Service was fab, staff really friendly and efficient. They also provided water and fusses for Boris. Really enjoyed our visit and wouldn't hesitate to come back. Would recommend 👍🏻

Good food, burger and sea bass. Samphire was a little stringy, but certainly lots of it so it didn't matter. Staff extremely helpful - above and beyond, and excellent service. Lovely peaceful location with garden overlooking the river. The atmosphere and depth of flavour in the food are what lost a star for us, but lovely nonetheless.
