Sunday roast here today was exceptional and so was the Frangipane for dessert!

Everything was perfect and the food was absolutely delicious. From the succulent duck starter, to the melt in the mouth lamb, and finally the best sticky toffee pudding I've ever eaten! Great service and lovely staff.

Three of us went for dinner on a Friday early evening, last week . We had booked a week earlier and it was an essential move, as the small but airy room was full. A decent space between tables allowed for quiet conversation. Our starters were smoked salmon, and scallops which were big, juicy and in a delicious creamy sauce. Our mains were slow cooked shoulder of lamb done to perfection in a pulled way, ie. not sliced, and roast chicken with super hand cut chips. Portions were quite generous, and absolutely full of flavour and the lamb was served with caringly cooked vegetables and mash. Sorbet and Cornish ice cream for our dessert followed by excellent coffee. Service was very friendly and staff were knowledgeable. The owner was on site and had a word with each table, and we will definitely be going there again! No compulsory service charge, which we liked, leading to a good tip from us.

What a gem. Honestly the best meal we've had in a long time. Difficult to choose from such a tempting menu but every dish we had was beautifully presented and utterly delicious. Very high quality local produce, skillfully cooked. Service was very friendly and efficient. Prices were extremely reasonable for such an excellent menu.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Portion sizes were very generous and at a reasonable price. Everything was cooked well and was delicious. Staff were helpful, accommodating and friendly. Couldn’t ask for more, we’ll definitely be returning when we get the chance.

We had a great dinner at Stepping stone. The staff were really kind and food tasty. I ordered the Roast pan hake with rissoto and a glass of wine and I really enjoyed it. It’s a good alternative if you want something different to an English pub and want to enjoy some fresh fish.

We attended the stepping stone restaurant on Wednesday 16th March 2022, for a evening meal, This was an excellent choice probably the best restaurant we have been to in a very long time, Trudie was very attentive to our every need, & the chef 👨🍳 ! Well totally amazing & a keeper we would say, The food & wine is absolutely wonderful, We will definitely be returning one day if we are lucky enough to get another booking, Thank you all for a lovely evening.
