Corarima is my favorite place in Wakefield.
Small family run restaurant, Sam the owner is such a lovely person.
The food is excellent, totally vegan and attentive to the ingredients.
Bread is made with Teff cereal which is a rarity.
Definitively my choice in Wakefield.
Absolutely amazing, the food is delicious a real taste experience. The service is superb. I can’t wait to go back for more.
Absolutely amazing !
The owner is very lovely and pays close attention to his guests. The food is very delicious and authentic.
A beautiful place I would recommend and always come back to!
Decided to try this restaurant on recommendation and because the food is vegan. We got a warm welcome and fabulous service. The food was amazing. We tried the combination dish which gave you a taste of a few things. There was only one thing my husband wasn't keen on But overall it was fantastic. It is vegetarian/Vegan, so no meat on the menu. Would recommend and will be going back.
Very friendly owners with indigenous knowledge of the menu. A great experience and delicious food. Very welcoming and helpful.
When I first heard we were going out to a vegetarian/vegan restaurant I’ve got to say at first I was a bit unsure as It’s something I haven’t done before. But, on arriving the service was amazing and the ambience so lovely. We asked the waiter to pick us some starters and mains as his recommendations. Wow what can I say I did not meet the meat one bit!! The food was delicious, so tasty and filling and I don’t have one complaint. I recommended the tofu dish definitely and the beetroot salad was gorgeous. A definite must for anyone wanting to try something new.
Really good food, friendly helpful staff. There was a warm welcome. The owner had a chat which was nice. He was really helpful in advising what to choose. And the food was so fresh and full of flavour. Would recommend & will be back!
I visited Corarima for the first time tonight. What an amazing experience. The welcome was warm, genuine and super friendly. I chose the sambusa, followed by kidney bean stew including injera and chickpea bread. Everything was so tasty and delicately spiced, even the little side salad was tasty with a great dressing.
As a life long vegetarian I love trying new cusines and I really loved my first taste of Abysynian food. It's great to see a busy little vegan/vegetarian restaurant in Wakefield and seeing this beautifully decorated place so busy on a cold and dreary Tuesday night is a testament itself to the owners and their really lovely food.
I will definitely be back and will recommend Corarima to everyone!
Corarima is beautifully decorated and the welcome you receive is genuinely warm and friendly. The menu is extensive, which could make it difficult to choose. Luckily they offer a combination menu where you are presented with a selection of items to share, including injera and chickpea bread to scoop the stews up with so that you can eat the food by hand as is traditional. The menu includes information on the ingredients and ethos of the restaurant. All of the dishes are vegan and the vast majority are gluten free. Each dish is delicately spiced - the food is warming but the spice isn't overpowering, so you can enjoy the flavours. Our visit to Corarima was a wonderful experience from start to finish and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
We went to jointly celebrate my dads 70th and my birthday. Booked for 6 of us well in advance and paid a small deposit, understandable for a busy Friday night.
From the moment we walked in we were given a very warm welcome. The place felt colourful and inviting with interesting decor.
Not knowing anything on the menu the owner offered to select and variety of starters and mains for us and we ordered a selection of drinks all freshly made teas and lemonades.
The selection of dishes was lovely and varied and everything we tasted was incredible, non of us have never tasted flavours like these anywhere. A big favourite was the pastry starter, don’t miss it.
We took our own bubbly and cake which they presented to us on a board, I hadn’t expected this and was a lovely touch.
The attention to detail here is exceptional. I cannot thank the owners and staff enough, we had a truly memorable time. I just wish we didn’t live so far away.
My Fiancée and I had our first taste of Abyssinian cuisine here today and would very highly recommend it! We got the combination platter for 2 as everything on the menu looked great and got an incredible introduction to this cuisine. Superfoods and super tasty!
As a lover of meat I was sceptical but it was absolutely amazing . Fantastic friendly service and delicious food. Never seen my daughter eat so much or so quickly. Absolutely would recommend anyone to give it a try. A gem in Wakefield. We will be back.
This place has the best flavours, everything is fresh and delicious. We love the ingera to scoop up our main courses after we've eaten our yummy humours with chickpea bread. Don't miss out, go to Corarima rather it's a family run business, you won't be disappointed.
We booked as a small group when I was back up in Wakefield to meet up with old work colleagues. We went for the sharing platters which gave us a flavour of almost everything on the menu. One of our group felt that he should have gone for the straight curry option, rather than the sharing platter, but that was only because he was sat next to a fellow diner and he was envious about what she was eating! We didn't leave very much at all.
Just know in advance that whilst they don't serve alcohol you are free to bring your own (but that isn't mentioned on the on-line menu so we weren't aware of that). It may be courteous to let them know you're bringing drinks with you.
Overall, an interesting dining experience with a wonderful host who was happy to explain about every dish he was bringing out to us. Best of luck for this restaurant's continued success.
From the ease of booking online, to the genuinely warm welcome followed by the delicious food, this is easily one of the best dining experiences we've ever had.
Absolutely first class experience! Wonderful food and brilliant service. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back.
Superb food. Great ambience. All but one food item and one drink is gluten free. No alcahol served but you can take your own if you want, although the drink they serve made out of flax is delicious.
First time for friends of ours to which they were amazed. Everything is just perfect. As I have mentioned before I am a meat eater but this place will open your mind to see that there is great food away from meat. This time we took friends who were on their first visit here and they were blown away with the food and the service. I have worked in the food industry for over 35 years and I can honestly say my dish was one of (if not) the best dish I have ever tasted. We are slowly working our way through the menu and can't wait to go back again. Thank you again for another great night.
Had a wonderful experience eating amazing all vegan food. Special mention to the host who assured we had a lovely time. One of the best in Wakefield ^_^
Second time here in the last three weeks. Love the food. They have 20 main choices and I want to try them all.
If you want meat, look elsewhere. If you want tasty food then look no further. The bonus is that it is vegetarian/vegan and gluten free, so if you need a place with one/all of those options you are sorted.
We were welcomed both times and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The place does BYOB with a corkage fee or a choice of non alcoholic drinks are available.
I can recommend to coffee and popcorn at the end of the meal.
It won’t be hard for you to guess that we will be back with such a lovely choice of main courses to be tempted by.
