Geralds Bar&restaurant

I came for tea tonight with my friend. The inside is decorated in a very modern way and looks nice. We sat in the window. The waiter was very polite and gave us plenty of time to choose what we wanted and happily came back when we said we weren’t yet ready to order. After ordering we were then brought over some bread. We ordered the Cheese Parcel and Calamari to start and a Veggie Pizza and Mushroom and Veggie Risotto for main. The cheese parcel was delicious and the Calamari was nice too. Not long after the mains came. I was offered extra Parmesan for the Risotto and a generous ramekin came. The Risotto was so creamy and the portion was very big and filling (great value for money). The Pizza was also large and made from scratch, cooked in a pizza oven. When my friend hadn’t eaten all the Pizza, they offered to box it up which she accepted. The Chef came over asking how the meals were and was delighted to hear the positive feedback, but welcomed critique too. He was very polite but could see we were catching up so didn’t hang around too long. We thought this was a nice touch. When we had finished the mains, a Panna cotta arrived at the table and the waiter said it was on them. This was so generous and unexpected. We shared it and both equally enjoyed it and we’re grateful for the nice touch. The total bill came to £36 which is very very reasonable. We had lovely food, great service, a nice catch up and will definitely return.

Came here yesterday and, although it was late (9.45pm) due to being left waiting for service by Syhriba staff, they very kindly accommodated us. The service was next to none and the food was gorgeous. I and all my fellow diners would definitely recommend that you pay a visit and I only wish that we had booked here first instead of the cattle shed round the corner! Thank you for making us feel so welcome 💙💜💚

We had the most delicious meal tonight at Gerald’s. Sam and the team were so friendly and attentive; they provided excellent service throughout the evening. The food was incredible: such high quality, this is a real treat for the people of Wakefield. I sadly didn’t take any pictures as we were so eager to tuck in, it was beautifully presented. The portion sizes were extremely generous and both the drinks and food menus had plenty of option, as well as several veggie and vegan options too. The decor and ambience is absolutely fantastic - really modern and lavish. We were really impressed by the high quality of service and standard of food and will certainly be returning - cannot recommend highly enough!
