Really nice spacious friendly pub with a lot of outdoor dining and drinking space.
We went in for the Sunday carvery, we didn't realise it was a carvery so it was a welcome surprise
We were welcomed in by one of the servers, Amber. Great smiley welcome, she was attentive and friendly and seated us without a booking.
The carvery was great, definitely no room for dessert, which was a shame because the dessert menu was tempting.
It was just over £30 for 2 roasts and 2 pints of soft drinks, Bargain we thought.
If we are in the area again we will definitely come back. It's just 5 mins from the forest but much less packed than the forest pubs and free plentiful parking too
Couple of things missing from menu but overall food was great, hot, tasty and good portion size. Onion nests were amazing.
Visited for "Breakfast with Santa" with my granddaughters.
Great idea and the girls loved the experience.
The staff were in costume, tables laid up with art & crafts where the children could move from table to table, make tree decorations and colouring in etc.
Choice of breakfasts where children sat on a big table with Santa.
Food available for the adults, if required.
And all children received a present.
Thoroughly enjoyed👌
Nice quiet pub. Car park has some issues with size of spaces, food good, little bit pricey though.
Visited for Lunch with friends around 12.30 wasn't very busy but it is a Thursday. Friendly staff and quick service, the cheese and bacon burgers were very nice well cooked, presented and hot unfortunately my friend had ordered a jacket potato with tuna which was obviously left over from a previous day and re heated which was pretty bad actually was dark dry and tough, the staff were very apologetic and because she didn't want anything else gave her a full refund so apart from that disappointing potato a very nice place to visit...let me add previous visits have been faultless so will definitely go back again.
Nice welcoming staff with a good atmosphere. The best chicken burger ive had in a while..
I would like to try something else on the menu .
Dated decor could do with a lil spruce up. But I would definitely return here.
Been here a few times but this time it was after a long walk with the dog and it was coming close to dinner time as we excited the footpath across the street and saw it ahead of us. It was a welcome sight as it's a lovely pub with a warm and friendly feel inside. They are incredibly dog friendly too and let your friend dine inside with you even offering water and snacks. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food is really good. Not the biggest menu but what they do is nice. The homemade soup was boiling hot and very fresh tasting and the deep fried Nachos are amazing.
We had been visiting The Plough at times after work and really could not have written anything negative about the place so I reserved a table for 15 to celebrate my birthday. So sorry I had to write this but the service I had received in the past was brilliant compared to how it was for my birthday meal. The food was nice ( so thanks to the chef) but we had to keep asking where our main meals or drinks were as we were not receiving what we had ordered and kept having to wait. The front of house staff were either tired or didn’t care about the service given.
Had we had received the foods/drinks as expected we would have stayed longer and spent more money.
A pregnant lady took my booking when we were visiting The Plough and on numerous occasions she had done over and beyond to keep us pleased offering good customer service . It might have been different if she had been working that day
Thank you
Great place for a drink with plenty of outdoor space. Sarah our bartender has a knack for wonderful displays promoting our favourite summer drinks. Dog friendly everytime we have been in.
Children friendly as they also have a kids area outside.
On a day like today...pure bliss with a good Pimms and lemonade to celebrate the summer sunshine :)
The whole place was refurbished not so long ago so has a fresh look even in the WCs.
Staff have always been friendly and attentive whenever we have been in for a drink. Yet to work through their menu though so will update on that note at some point I'm sure.
Had a burger and chips, really good quality, with a sticky toffee pud to finish. Very nice. Staff welcoming
