Excellent, fast and friendly service. Arrived for an early dinner just after 5pm, and enjoyed a superb beetroot and blue cheese risotto

Lovely room we stayed in clean and spacious. All the staff very friendly and polite. Nothing to much trouble. If you like your food then do not miss this place on your bucket list. Will definitely be staying again and passing on to anyone that needs a break. Cheers all at the red lion.

Found it quite hard to write a review for the Red lion. I will start with the staff. Very helpful and welcoming. We arrived early and they let us book in hour early. Our room was very clean and looked recently, although on closer inspection there were signs of damage, i can only assume done by previous guests. But on the whole we were very happy with it. We spent the day out and when we came down from our it was after 10 .Exspecting the kitchen to be closed we were told no we could still choose from this wonderful board of cured meats cheeses. It was delicious and very indulgent. In the morning at breakfast which was although slow, was also delicious. This meal was in the dining room. I asked the waitress about the evening menu. She explained that the cured meats and cheese and a few homemade bar snacks was all they did . We ate out that evening. By accident the local pub said they and other places offered a 10 per cent off to ted lion customers. We were not told this by the hotel. Would we go back? Yes in the summer. In the winter when its cold and raining definitely no.

We stopped off for a quick bite and to sample some local Ales. The food was nice and the ales were lovely. The interior was luxurious and had a homely feel. There was more than enough space to ensure a bit of privacy. The locals made us feel right at home upon arriving at the pub, which isn't always the case when visiting a small village.

I booked a room at this hotel, primarily because of its location. As a surprise weekend away for my wife and I. The red lion was easy to find has it boasts a fab location at the towns crossroads. yes parking is restricted but ample parking is only a short walk away. The reception we got was warm and friendly, with a big emphasis on "nothing was too much trouble". Lisa had us booked In to room 1, to the front of the hotel, with tasteful deco, high ceilings and One of the most comfortable beds we have slept in while away. We eat in the restaurant of the red lion and must say it was "truly wonderful" it was presented and served fantastically. the cider was also moreish. the breakfast was also a winner all cooked fresh to order, again the staff excelled themselves Nothing was any trouble. So.... would we stay again yes. Would I recommend the red lion.. yes we would.

Absolute must when you eat in th Red Lion Pub. BBQ ribs with the most amazing BBQ sauce. Fantastic. Staff are friendly, beer and cider great but, those BBQ ribs will stay in the mind a long time. Having said that our party of 8 adults didn't have a poor meal during our weekend in Wareham.

I would highly recommend the red lion for food. We arrived at 8.45pm and they close the kitchen at 9pm, but still happy to serve us. I personally had the 8oz burger and got to say one of the best burgers I have had. Even the chips and Colsaw was amazing. So good in fact that I had to go back Sunday so that someone in our party could also have one. Everyone else's food looked and smelled great. The staff where great very friendly and happy to help. We will definitely be returning and will be looking into booking a room next time.

I've got to recommend this pub/restaurant. It's centrally located in Wareham, lovely sun trap inside with nice big windows and some comfortable seating. Food was absolutely amazing and such a fair price you could not fault it. Staff also were friendly and helpful. I visited twice during my visit to Wareham and will be returning again for sure.

Have used the Red Lion recently booking meals for smaller family occasions as well as larger group bookings. Have always had really friendly staff and the management have always been in the restaurant to help with any queries re menus and dietary needs etc. It is really great that they are also part of the Welcome Breastfeeding Scheme in Dorset, shows great support for local people as well as families/mums visiting the county on holiday. Really friendly place to visit with great staff and an extensive gin menu 👍👍
