Great food, good prices, staff where super freindly and very helpful 😁 there is also a restaurant next door serving food from the chippy. I will make visit there for a shandy with my dinner one day.
Also they sell picked eggs, not for me but some people love em.

Lovely fresh cooked tea. Chips just right and lightly battered cod. Staff were a delight and service excellent. Nice cup of tea to round the meal off. Would recommend this place.

Visited yesterday for lunch. Staff were amazing. Food was lovely. We ordered fish and chips. The fish was so fresh. Double bacon burger it was huge and delicious and chips and cheese. Chips are not greasy at all and they serve a gluten free option. Highly recommended will visit again. Kids eat free 3pm til 5pm

Great place.
There can be a long wait at peak times, but it's absolutely worth the time.
If you have a food intolerance, they have a huge selection of gluten free items and they taste as good as (or even better) than the "real" ones.

Ate here with a large family group. Fantastic food, great service and decent prices. My sister has now taken two separate USA visitors to sample this place, we all loved it ! It definitely deserves its' reputation as The Best Fish and Chip Shop!

Four of us were looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to eat on Sunday lunchtime. Found this place and it's ok. Restaurant was empty but takeaway part seemed busy. Good service and although we waited a little too long for the food to arrive it was good chip shop fare. £40ish for food and drinks, good portions and all eaten.

We had planned to travel north west on the M6 I wanted to find a chippy in Warrington. I found Captain Papa's and read some reviews. Some were very positive and some were negative. I wok on the basis that different people have different experiences for different reasons and decide to go there anyway. Gold stars all round:
1. A car park of a good size across the road which is a huge bonus.
2. Staff were helpful and friendly.
3. The serving area was lovely and clean.
4. The fish and chips? Absolutely delicious and the batter nice and crispy.
5. Toilet - compared to the review I had read the toilet area was spacious, suitable for the disabled and very clean.
There isn't much else I can say except I woul recommend it as a chippy and if in the ara again would definitely return.

Think the last review is of somewhere else, this is a chippy not a restaurant.
Anyway my wife and I stumbled across this gem on a circuitous route home from a weekend opp north.
We had the Papa special and for the price it was excellent value.
More to the point the chips were tasty and the fish batter light.
Mushy peas tasted good too.
Pleasant staff as well.

Didn't really think you could get fancy British fish and chips, even more so at reasonable prices.
Highly underrated in my opinion but atleast it makes for quick service.
Defiantly award winning chips, nice to have a change of pace from the usual cardboard, grease soaked pieces of potato most places serve nowadays.
