This is a wonderful place for books, coffee (or tea) and cake that I had the pleasure of discovering this evening as it hosted a Pulp Idol event. With regular poetry and music open mic events, it also has regular attendances from authors and illustrators.
And to top it all I bought a copy of Australia's much-missed art critic Robert Hughes' 'Barcelona' for a quid - bargain and some!
Write Blend is a fantastic welcoming place. Lovely Books, lovely coffee, lovely people. Lots of interesting events going on and a great shop to visit with children.
The bookshop although small has a wide range of books and the service is excellent. But the premises also accommodates above the bookshop a vinyl record shop selling second hand vinyls. Here you will find a huge selection of singles and LPs from a large selection of well known and not so popular, groups and artists from yesteryear, along with memorabilia about those groups and generations past. The owner is well versed in many of the groups and artist in his collection and will happily help in conversation with customers queries. The premises is situated along the main highway, South Road Waterloo. If visiting by car then parking is limited along this road and the side roads are all residential parking only. There is a bus route via South Road if travelling by bus or visit by train stopping a Waterloo train station on South Road.

A hidden gem that should appeal to book lovers, coffee aficionados and indeed, anyone looking for a great place to have a cake or a business meetup in the cafe upstairs - don't forget to checkout the range of pre-loved books upstairs too.
The bookstore often has author signings & other events going on and is just perfect for those of us that love the printed word.
The cafe is equally great. Nice coffee, friendly staff and they do some nice food too. I can heartily recommend their omelettes and indeed, it's become our haunt of choice for Saturday mornings when we get two hours off from being stressed parents thanks to Dance Class! :)

Coffee & books - what more does the soul need? The answer to that is cake!
This little book shop is such a quiet place and certainly is one of Waterloo's hidden gems. The Write Blend café is above the bookstore, the service was given with a smile, everyone was very welcoming, and the cake was divine.
I am very excited to say that I was there today delivering some of my own books a big thank you to Bob for offering to stock my three bestselling books. A light to guide us home, Angels around us and my first children’s book Enchanted tales of the fairy kingdom. All my books made Amazon best seller, but I am so please to be a part of the Write Blend book shop. A big thank you to Bob.
The bookstore often has author signings & other events going on and is just perfect for those of us that love the printed word, in this fast-paced world of internet and online shops.
The café upstairs is a little quiet place to enjoy coffee and cake! While you sit quietly and read your book.
I will be back of that I am certain.
One of my favourite places in Waterloo!
A lovely book shop and a delicious food on the first floor. Today I had a latte and a goat's cheese quiche. Delish!
Lovely cafe. I was taking my 3 children to Crosby beach (Another Place) and read about this place on the Liverpool Echo website about the top 20 cafes in Liverpool to visit. A lovely, well laid out cafe. Plenty of room for prams, etc and a lift upstairs to it. Cake was amazing and coffee was spot on. Definitely good value for money. It set us up for a great day at the beach!
This is a little oasis in the area. It is lovely. Not only is this a great bookshop (and best for buying special cards), but there is a wonderful cafe upstairs (and down too, should you prefer) with home made food and cakes. It is a perfect place to meet with friends, and all the staff are lovely. Highly recommended.
Can't say much for the bookshop yet - looks well-stocked and friendly but I haven't had a chance to buy anything!
The cafe upstairs is lovely though - best hot chocolate in Waterloo! Reasonable prices, nice atmosphere, will be making it a regular habit.
Great book shop, very friendly owner who can order in any book he might not stock. Wide selection of unusual books.
AMAZING coffee, great atmosphere, nice place to read/get some work done/meet a friend. love this place.
this place is great for books BUT if you go upstairs there is also a record and music shop with great Lp albums / cassettes / minidisc / and great memorabilia you can also get a coffee while you look
Write Blend is a book shop and café combo - book shop downstairs with the café above. The book shop has a great selection of books - including children's, second hand and local interest - and regularly hosts authors, artists and musicians for special events.
The cafe does great food - they're good when it comes to special dietary requirements including vegan and gluten free cakes. It's fairly priced and the staff are always friendly. Very much recommended.
