Darlingtons Tea Room is part of the Heart of the Shires Shopping Village. This lovely tea room serves freshly made home cooked food. If you are looking for something for breakfast, they have bacon sandwiches, beans on toast, sweet and savoury croissants. As it was close to lunchtime, there was a range of food to choose from. The menu included quiches, salads, open sandwiches, jacket potatoes and soup. The Parsnip Soup was creamy and slightly sweet. It was served with a freshly baked warm granary baguette. The soup and bread made for a filling and satisfying lunch. They also do gluten free bread rolls. A decaffeinated milky coffee was served by the mug. It was a good way to warm up on this cold day together with the soup. The staff were really friendly, welcoming and gave good service. Darlingtons Tea Room had a traditional feel to it. Lots of sunshine streamed into the dining area at the back of the tea room. It was nice that the view from the tea room was out into the garden. The food was really lovely, great sandwiches and scones, oodles of jam and clotted cream.
Loved the mini prosecco - though a non alcoholic option for the driver would be a welcome addition.
The staff were very welcoming and super attentive.
The setting is nice, there is plenty of parking and some nice boutique shops to look around.
The restaurant "the 1867" is one of the best I have met in the area.
Quiet and peaceful neighborhood, very friendly staff, tasteful decor and delicious breakfast .
I will definitely be coming back here.
Last minute booking for my mother in laws birthday. Booking made after a lovely staff member noticed a conversation between myself and bestie about whether I needed to book whilst I was reading one of their Facebook posts. Fabulous service from start to finish with all of the waitresses being very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and coffees we all had were delicious 😋
Just as we were about to leave my mother in law Shirley was given a beautiful card and gift for her birthday from the team. Such a wonderful gesture for a lady who has been very poorly over the past few months and apart from doctors surgeries hasn’t been out anywhere nice in ages. She had the best morning ever!! I really appreciate the fact that the team at the 1867 managed to find a table for me on a very busy day for a meeting that unfortunately, got delayed at the last minute. Being in Heart of the Shires, I was meeting another lady from Buckinghamshire so the location was perfect to meet in between.
I cannot tell you how amazing it feels to walk into a place and spend a few hours in an environment where people clearly care about their customers. You can see it’s busy, you can see that there are lots of reserved and full tables, that’s what happens when you are good at what you do, but I’ve never had a situation where they couldn’t find a table for somebody, it was just a case of giving them a bit of time and space while browsing around the shops to find a suitable one whilst serving customers. When you ask nicely, of course they will help.❤️
The food was lovely, I’m a pescatarian and I didn’t even struggle with choice. And the pimms was great! Definitely lifted the mood of the conversation up a notch.😂💕

The moment we stepped in we received such a warm welcome, the friend who I went with was recovering from a knee replacement and the care she received was outstanding with cushions and blankets provided to make her comfortable. The lunch, surroundings and staff were all fantastic. It was clear that the staff were very happy in their work and this shone through their service. Will definitely return.😀
Fantastic food. Lots of it and hot. Very helpful and nice staff. Very clean and tidy. Highly recommend to go out for lunch. Probably best to book as very busy. They took my number and called me back in 25 mins as advised because so busy. Which was great as could wonder around the shops there.
We had a wonderful time yesterday at this truly lovely place. We found this purely by chance. Beth, Rosa and Amy were so friendly and accommodating to our every needs. Never been till today, was very impressed. Granted there are cheaper places. But the layout and cleanliness and service and food was just great. We will return again.

The Three Shires is a selection of quirky and quite unique set of shops and Darlingtons is the icing on the cake.
Roomy, clean, super friendly staff and a simple yet reasonably priced menu for food and drinks. I’ll definitely be coming back to have more than two Lattes next time.
