Great pub, really friendly staff, Lovely food and a perfect place to while away a sunny afternoon with a refreshing drink on their terrace, or to go for a quality evening meal. Would highly recommend.
We met at the pub yesterday for a walk with Retired Greyhounds North Yorkshire. Afterwards hounds and humans enjoyed cooling drinks in the pub garden. We were made most welcome by all the staff. Would recommend to anyone, with or without a dog.
Great menu. Some interesting unusual food. Fast efficient service. The food was beautifully cooked and the beer was well kept
Everything you’d want from a North Yorkshire pub!
Great quality food with so much flavour, good sized portions that weren’t overwhelming either, a warm atmosphere, and friendly and funny staff/management. Will definitely be back 🤠
Food good but not amazing. Great open fires and good atmosphere. Could have had more real ales. Generally worth a visit
A group of us came for Sunday lunch and we all enjoyed the afternoon here. Friendly service, good atmosphere and good food all at a good price. Nice place to go for the traditional Sunday roast with family or friends.
(Constructive comment - the nut roast was very tasty but more veg and less rice next time please)
Lovely Sunday Lunch with family. Friendly atmosphere, roaring fire. Getting this right when that’s all you want is lovely. They do it well here.
Fantastic food, lovely pub with clean facilities & friendly staff. Had a quick lunch and drink before going home from the area, and the burger I had was excellent, kept me going for the rest of the day. Would recommend. Thanks again.
First visit for Sunday lunch, and most definitely won’t be our last.
Lovely log fire, fantastic food, great service, would highly recommend a visit, thank you again to Paul and the team!
We had a meal and drinks here whilst doing a walk from Malton to Castle Howard. We both had nice food, it was on the pricey side though for what it was. I was surprised my fish pie didn't come with any veg so I had to pay £4.50 for a side of veg-on top of £18.95 fish pie - which wasn't a particularly big portion, although it was very nice-as were the veg I paid extra for. Husband had the duck, which came with red cabbage and potatoes and said it was very nice. Dog friendly place.
Very nice place to head out for a meal either in the restaurant or the bar.
Not the cheapest in the area but excellent down to earth food. Very pleasant staff. Clean toilets. A very nice young man behind the bar. The assistant manager. He will go far. A really lovely evening. Thankyou so much for making us feel welcome.
Qwerky pub on the main street.
We had Sunday Lunch after doing a 4 mile walk around Castle Howard. Food was great ,staff very attentive and pleasant, would of being nice if fires were lit, but it was a mild day, definitely recommend
