Rachels Cafe

Very cool place with nice views. We got here on a cold rainy day and it would probably be a really cool location to visit on a sunny day. However, the food was very disappointing. The bacon in my eggs Bene tasted like rubber, the salt dispensers were all rusty and dirty and the cutlery was sticky like it hadn’t been cleaned properly. Would not recommend for food / coffee but I’d give the bar a go.

I had a fishburger. It was over cooked and it had that fishy taste that you get from frozen fish . I could be wrong , but this is my opinion. They got my order wrong the first time, they gave me a chicken burger. I may have been wiser to accept it! However the people with me , a lot of them had scones and these were really good, so not all bad

Not very good at all. Food was mediocre for the price and lacked effort and imagination. And to make it worse a 15% Public Holiday Surcharge on top was a kick in the guts (surcharge sign was not displayed clearly either, I.e. no sign outside just a small sign angled away from the customer queue at the counter). For $86 i would have expected a bit more value for my money for 2 burgers a kids meal and 2 drinks. Plates full of shoestring fries around the burger and chicken nuggets is not value for money. The boat needs a good clean and cracked windows replaced. The sign on Oriental Pde is misleading as has incorrect menu and pricing. Toilets were filthy and the floor so sticky your shoes almost come off.

New management in place from 1st October, so this was my first visit with the new team. Menu is Ok but unimaginative, and there were no light lunch items in the counter cabinets. Service was friendly and efficient, though, and I expect the minor menu deficiencies to be rectified in time. The view over the harbour was spectacular as it always is - worth coming here for that alone. Try to get a table in the aft deck conservatory for the best of the views.
