Bang in Wells Next the Sea is a dog-friendly bistro offering a splendid selection of seafood. The menu blends traditional English dishes with several European and Asian alternatives, such as paella and curry, and includes a daily catch of fish. The beverage options were excellent, especially the wine and the guest ale. The service was friendly, and the food was promptly prepared and served. However, we felt somewhat neglected as the restaurant was preparing for a busy Thursday evening during our visit from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Consequently, the dessert options were limited to ice cream, as the kitchen was gearing up for the evening rush. The staff missed opportunities to offer hot drinks at the end of the meal. The burger was quite enjoyable, albeit slightly overcooked and dry. This tendency to prepare beef well done by default seems common in the area. The fish and chips were also tasty, but don't expect the portion size of a typical fish and chip shop. The side salads were flavorful and fresh. Our 8-year-old son thoroughly enjoyed his seafood platter, with his only comment being that it was a bit salty. Nonetheless, this didn't prevent him from finishing the entire plate. In conclusion, we had a pleasant meal, but it didn't leave us thoroughly impressed, and we departed with a slight sense of disappointment.

Had a lovely meal and staff were friendly and initially found us a table as we had not booked, food arrived with a short wait and was very good. Unfortunately once we had eaten our main course, we had trouble attracting attention of waiting staff both to order additional drinks and for desert. The table was not cleared and we gave up on ordering deserts and decided to leave as we had been waiting for some time. We had to wait a considerable amount of time to attract attention to ask for the bill and then again for the bill to arrive. I accept that the restaurant was busy but overall I felt the service let the venue down I am afraid.

We came here for a group dinner. Service was good - despite it being busy, they managed to find us a space by the window where we could keep an eye on our bikes outside. The food was excellent but a little pricey and smaller portions than we were expecting, though it was well presented. There's a nice buzzing atmosphere, with vibrant colourful decor and has a winebar/restaurant feel - there's also a small intimate outdoor seating area around the back.

Lovely lunch, mussels and macaroni cheese. Very pleasant young waiter who nothing was too much trouble for, brought water for our dog, we sat outside but he offered to relocate us if it became too chilly for us.

Came for a quick lunch several days ago, and had a lovely time. Lovely casual and upbeat setting with stellar service and awesome food. The paella was particularly fantastic! Often quite busy around lunch time, so make sure you book!

I visited Wells this week and this hotel was lovely. Giant room, friendly staff, free milk for tea (and happy to accommodate oat milk). Also nice breakfast included. I especially appreciated the book on smuggling in the Norfolk coast which was provided in my room, as it gave me a fascinating insight into local history which really tied in my explorations of the area. Will definitely come back. Thankyou!

Excellent food. Very nicely cooked and didn't have long to wait. We chose to eat here because of the good gluten free choices. Restaurant decoration is really refreshing and bright. We have eaten here twice in 4 days so it must be good.

Did not rate the rooms as just popped in for lunch. And what a banging lunch it was, we had the chilli bowl, nachos and burger…wow! Everything tasted amazing and seasoned to perfection! (Nacho portion could of been bigger) The atmosphere and decor where great, we sat near the open door way looking out onto the roadside, felt like we were in a cafe abroad. The only tiny negative was that we waited what felt like ages for our drinks, the coffee was amazing though. Will definitely be back soon 😊

We went for breakfast and were seated straight away. Super dog friendly. Coffee was amazing, as was the food. A lovely place, with the only downside being the uncomfortable metal chairs.

We love this place. Beautiful rooms, court yard garden perfect for drinks, nothing is too much trouble. Dog friendly rooms with towels at the ready for muddy paws. A short walk to the sea front and an assortment of shops. Cannot recommend Bang highly enough.
