Ensemble - Restaurant

Our first time at Ensemble and we loved it! The service was very attentive and fast and the food was delicious - I had the seafood spaghetti which was one of the best I've had, and I've had a lot of seafood spaghettis! My husband had the sirloin steak which was perfectly cooked and our desserts (cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding) were divine. I just wish I could have had all of them! The decor was great too and really well designed. Can't wait to come back!

Look no further, Ensemble is your best choice in Wells! Ensemble looked a bit dark and empty from the outside but we received a warm welcome. We didn’t have a reservation. On the window it said this was highly recommended, but this appeared to be no problem at all. The restaurant is housed in a beautiful building. From the back it has a view on Wells’ cathedral. Everything is very nicely decorated with great eye for detail. The toilets are very clean. When the kitchen has a dish ready to serve, a tune sounds as if we hear the cathedral play. A very original detail! The kitchen was out of sight in the basement. Our order was prepared on time and it looked perfect. The ingredients used were tasteful, perfectly cooked locally produced beef and homemade salsa. Desserts were spot on, especially the rhubarb cheesecake! After a perfect cappuccino and thee the bill we were surprised with the bill. Apparently is was burger Thursday. This meant in total it was less then 40 pounds for two. This was really great value for money. I could not recommend this place enough! Great service, great food, great value and very nice atmosphere. Only comment I could make is they could advertise themselves a little better on the outside. With for example the menu on a standard, the special menu should be there too! Maybe some flowers could attract attention. For now we have a hidden gem!
