A new place in town which appeared to have great reviews from my colleagues. When we visited there was a nice space inside but we decided to sit outside with the war weather. Great place for drink as they have a bar and there is a good choice of mocktails to choose from. The food is on the borderline as it can be good sometimes and sometimes it can leave you disappointed. Overall I would say the friendly staff and their efforts to try to make the best of your visit tips it over to being a place where I would still visit again and again.

Casual food and drinks in a square - you could almost believe that you are in Spain. Good tapas, not too expensive and a good size. The Gambas Chorizo was spicy and very good. Bacalao was fresh and crisp, although I would prefer a stronger garlicy alioli. Mixed meats we're generous and tasty. The takeaway can steam in the boxes, so isn't as crisp by the time it arrives, so better to eat in if you can.

Lovely selection of food and friendly service. We enjoyed a lunch with several tapas dishes and a tasty sangria.

We have been here many times and also had take away during lock down. We have always enjoyed the food and like to support a local business. Our food last night was delicious as always. We were the only ones in there (table booked for 6.30) and sat outside which was nice as it is a lot quieter than sitting on the pavement outside some of WGCs other restaurants. The outside area catches the later evening sun, so by 7.30 it was lovely, would be a good spot on hot summer evenings. A few more tables outside with maybe a few plants would really add to the ambiance

We really enjoyed the food here - very tasty and authentic and reasonably priced. Friendly and attentive staff helped make a good atmosphere and it was lovely to see the place busy. Drinks service was a bit slow but probably teething issues as it's a new opening. Think it'd be a good idea to add exterior lights or a bigger street sign outside as the restaurant is tucked back off the street and might be missed by passers-by/causal visitors. Overall, it's great to see a non-chain restaurant doing such good things!

Highly recommended Spanish tapas. It isn't cheap but they use quality ingredients. Friendly and helpful staff throughout. We had 6 tapas dishes and they were all great and better than some local places in Tenerife I visited. The paella was good but not the best I've had and could get better. Definitely worth a visit.

Well where to start from the 1st moment we arrived we was hit with such a fab feeling the manager was alert and aware. Taken to our reserved table and had a charming young waitress who guided us through the menu with such enthusiasm. Our drink order was taken and arrived with in a few minutes even though the place was rapidly filling up . We decided to try a few different bowls of what turned out to be amazing Food THE GARLIC MUSHROOMS deserve 5 stars just for them we also had the meatballs, baby calami and the Spanish wings and each bite was worth every penny thank you to the chefs and the whole team we can not wait to visit again 👌⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 visit was Thursday 1st at 7pm

This new tapas restaurant is definitely worth a try. We went along last night for the first time and enjoyed excellent food (lightest batter I have ever had on the cod balls; yummy!). All the staff were very polite and friendly and adhered to current Covid rules. Hope they make a success of it as Welwyn Garden City was crying out for somewhere new to eat and drink. Good luck guys!

Amazing bar, floor and kitchen staff 😍 Divine dishes which do not disappoint!!! Come hungry and thirsty!! This sparkling new venue will undoubtedly be booked up in advance so I highly recommend getting your bookings in now as the restaurant was close to capacity on the Tuesday after opening night. Be sure to order the fried peppers and cheese croquettes 🤤 Gracias La Mesa Familia, we will be back VERY SOON ❤ Special mention to the manager Tony for his interstellar leaderships skills 👍👍La Mesa are lucky to have you!

A fantastic family run restaurant. Had many tapas in and around Spain, and this restaurant is so on the mark with there fine Spanish food made by there authentic Spanish Chefs. I couldn't fault the friendly and informative service, the bar and bartenders have a very clean working area couldn't fault the beer and the cocktails I would say the best around. I would recommend this family friendly restaurant to all my friends. Thanks for a great night 👍💃💃🎶🍾
