We had Sunday dinner here yesterday. 14 of us, children included. We had to wait 30 minutes for our table as it wasn’t ready. But this wasn’t a issue for us, we was offered drinks on the house as a apology. Once we sat down and our order taken the food came quickly and it was all very nice. No complaints about the food, they obviously have a good chef. Most of us are fussy eaters too! They don’t have a kids menu but this wasn’t a issue, a few of the kids had small roast dinners and the other fish fingers chips and peas. So everyone did enjoy what they had. The only down side is the waiting staff and not quite with it! But the host was great! And we even had a singer there, from 5pm. And she was fantastic- kids had a bit of a dance too! All in all I would go back without hesitation. It’s a lovely well decorated gastro pub! I would recommend to friends and family.
An old coaching inn that has maintained many of its original features, exposed beams, wooden floors, and old brickwork, etc. My room had a stand-alone bath, which was a very nice feature. A very large and comfortable bed made my stay even more relaxing.
I ate in the bar/restaurant the day I arrived the food was very enjoyable.
Lovely food, cosy atmosphere, welcoming host and great service. Overall made for a very happy evening. We also visited a couple of months ago and have no hesitation in recommending.
Had a lovely one night stay at The Wellington - the room was clean and beautifully decorated, my evening meal was absolutely gorgeous and a wide variety of choices for breakfast which was equally as nice! The staff were friendly and attentive.
Great stay - thanks!
Didn’t stay here for a night, just had a quick meal.
Boring Story time - it was a rainy day in England the day I had lunch at this restaurant, I was going to go to the Wembley Spanish festival but it was chucking down, so I decided to pause that idea, anyway, I was driving around the shop to find a place to have a meal, when I stumbled across this place. I have friends who have eaten here and said it was good, so I thought I might as well. We were greeted by a lovely member of staff, who took us to our table. The atmosphere was great, warm and charming, perfect place to have a meal on a rainy day like that. The food was terrific and service was constantly outstanding.
I will be coming back!
A lovely sized room, we had a fantastic night sleep and the breakfast in the morning was very good with a wide selection of options.
Located at the end of the high street, it's in a great location for walking around the village and surrounding countryside as well as being close to transport links and Welwyn Garden City
Just a Sunday Roast at the Wellington Inn was delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive and happy to help when asked. Will definitely visit again.
Fantastic welcome with all the team very attentive and cheery! Food was pretty good and bedroom was stunning.
Room would have got 5 star but did not appreciate the lack of privacy loo or cheap loo paper.
Definitely would recommend and return..
Thank you all. 😊
I highly recommend staying at The Wellington if you are in the Welwyn area. The room was immaculate, clean and and tidy and packed full of character. The staff cannot do more for you all you have to do is ask. Ellie on the front desk/bar was exceptional, she really made us feel welcome and even saved us a parking spot when there was an event on in the street (there is a car park but it was blocked for the event). Breakfast was amazing and is included when you stay. We had the full English which was delicious and it was huge!
I took my mother for a cream tea, was delicious. The service was fantastic and very friendly.
Top notch stay from start to finish. Ellie and all staff couldn't have been more helpful. Whole place is presented well and the room we had was clean, comfy, and far more characterful than average. Fine food quality and choice, with a decent wine list. Highly recommended.
