Popped in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was quiet. Finding a seat was easy and we were welcomed by staff on entry. We ordered through the app which was easy to use. Ordering mains, one starter for one of the kids, and puddings for the kids.
Our drinks came quickly and the starter came soon after. The chap serving asked if we wanted to wait until the starter was finished for the mains or bring them asap.
The mains arrived soon after and everything was lovely. Nothing over cooked, which is my main issue with pub grub. My burger was big and juicy and the fried egg was perfect, all white cooked through and a runny yoke.
We finished our mains and as the chap was clearing our plates he asked if we'd be ordering desserts for the adults, as he'd get the kitchen to delay the kids desserts until that order came through. We did and all the puddings arrived at once, which I thought was a nice touch and good communication with the kitchen.
All in all the food was good, and the service was great. I know the apple tree has been variable in the past but they seem to have it together at the moment!
Enjoyed a lovely meal on our weekend break, easy to book a table and we ordered from the app, which was easy to do. Staff were friendly and everything was covid safe. Will definitely visit next time we are up this way.
The time we waited for food was ridiculous 45-60 minutes with no warning it would take that long.
Meals coming out at different times so as a table of 15 we didn’t all eat together for my daughter’s birthday meal.
